After checking into the historic hotel, located next to and attached to the Proctor Theatre, I rode in the wrought iron encased elevator to the fifth floor. Since I’m the mom of three boys and one very animated husband, I could only imagine the fun they would have, riding on such a tiny, picturesque elevator. A weekend seminar, held at... more

The Parker Inn was the perfect location for our visit to Niskayuna, NY. In addition to visiting friends, we also needed to be in Schenectady some of the time, so it worked out well. Our room was very spacious (2 adults and 2 children stayed) and comfortable. Both the bathroom and the room itself were very clean. We would definitely... more

Well, it's not called Sally, isn't particularly tall but does seem long and thin. It is next to a splendid old restored theatre/cinema. It is not glamorous and there was no fridge in the room, but there was lots of room, comfortable bed, splendid big shower and an awful view of a wall! But it was quiet , there was... more

Cancellation policy caused a BIG problem. Their 24 hr cancellation policy is a big secret. (Can’t find it on their web site.) Made a reservation for the next night. 24 hr cancellation policy was not mentioned. A major storm & power outage made it impossible to travel. Called the hotel @ 6:30 am on the arrival date to cancel our... more

Due to the size and independent status of The Parker Inn, our cancellation policy is 24 hours prior to arrival. The Parker Inn's cancellation policy is not hidden. It is on our website under rooms and rates. It is also explained to each guest making a reservation by the front desk staff, include the guest who wrote this review. When...

I was going to give this rating a 4 ecause of the location but the hotel cannot help that! This is a great hotel!!! I have stayed there 3 times for work and the staff goes above and beyond. The rooms are great and bathrooms are some of the best I have seen in a hotel. The only problem is... more

After my first trip to Schenectady for last year's Travers, I can't say I was expecting great things from any hotel in the area. The pictures of hotel looked great so I was expecting at least a decent place to sleep for the weekend. Boy, was I surprised! Apparently, I completely missed State Street and all the great renovations the... more

My husband and I stayed at The Parker Inn for a weekend in May. We like staying in independently owned places instead of the the larger chain hotels. This hotel proved to be exactly what we was looking for! The staff were very friendly and eager to help us with whatever we needed, whether bringing our bags in, making dinner... more

Stayed at the Parker Inn over Christmas while visiting family. Small, independent hotel, with luxurious touches (large custom tile shower, high end bedding) right in downtown Schenectady. Had a huge (the executive suite) room, with 4 huge windows. Two problems - one, their bar was closed 2 out of 3 nights we were there. Their bar was one of the... more

Very nice hotel ....believe that it's a converted department store located right in downtown area. Next to Proctor's threater, which is a destination in itself. Rooms are smallish with very nice bathroom. Hotel is a bit old and creaky in spots and parking out back is not super convenient. Stayed one night over Thanksgiving holiday and rate was very favorable... more
