This motel, on Route 20, is in a perfect location. It's a short drive into Skaneateles, where you can walk around easily. The resident Lab is always ready to greet you and even play fetch. Accommodations are comfortable, and the staff is accommodating. more

On the strength of a suggestion at the N.Y State Welcome Centre at Canadian border we decided on the spur of the moment to make an overnight stop in Skaneateles: a charming town we will be happy to revisit but not to stay at the Birds Nest Motel. The lock on our unit was defective making it extremely difficult to... more

If you like cockroachs and Poop this is the place for you. The abrasive, very rude owner, Robert Evans, makes your stay very uncomfortable. Its amasing he has any guests stay a second night. They have a dog who lives on the property, but the management doesn't clean up after the dog reliefs himself. There are more cockroachs here, then... more

Birds Nest Motel was highly recommended for its price and convenient location. The property was quite cute, but casually managed and not properly cleaned and maintained! We have never been so disappointed by a travel experience like this. We suffered from headaches and respiratory distress as a result of our severe allergic reaction to the allergens in that dirty room... more

Spent five nights ...very pleasant....and peaceful Family and friends occupied over half the rooms, as we were celebrating a wedding, and the vast front lawn was a great meeting place. Simple and comfortable........not a chain more

my dad died and we had to go back for the funeral. The Bird's Nest owner "bent over " backwards to help us with any thing. The dog was sweet and great therapy.I didn't care about the a/c as much under the circumstances, nor the sounds from the other rooms.Yes the showers watch your head.I stubbed my toe on the division between... more

We stayed at the Bird's Nest on a 90+ degree, rainy weekend in July. The room was larger than expected but was in an annex building that was dark and musty. The power went out during a heavy rain storm. We checked out a day early at noon because we were traveling with our elderly Mother. She physically could not... more

This is the 2nd worst motel/hotel I've ever stayed at. 1. The rooms are very small 2. The beds are like sleeping on cardboard 3. There is dog poop on the front lawn, 4. The maids turn off the a/c when they clean the rooms, 5. There is no refrigerator or microwave 6. The pool is nasty 7. Don't take... more

My wife and I were looking for a motel as we drove through NY state. It was getting late and we found The Bird's Nest Motel. For $79 +tax ($90)/night we weren't too impressed. Unimpressive: 1. Sound: The wall are very thin. We were given the keys to the first room and when we walked in the room we could... more
