Great experience. We had a 3rd floor room with a balcony, overlooking the town and lake. The night we were there we enjoyed a live concert of John Philip Sousa music from the park below while sitting out on the balcony. Very royal:-) Staff was great. Lovely and spacious room, modern bathroom. Decent food at the Sherwood Inn (same owners)... More

Stayed one Saturday night because my wife did not want to drive 1 1/2 hours home. Even though plenty of rooms available was charged rack rate with no AAA or other discounts. Did not press the issue with clerk but just wanted to get settled in. The room was in the rear of the building, smallish and looked out on... More

We were staying at the Packwood to attend a wedding and were given a choice of rooms to book. I asked if we could have the balcony room instead, because it was a birthday celebration for husband and myself as well, and I wanted it to be special. I was told none were available, but there was a "lake view"... More

On a tour of the Finger Lakes area, we stopped in Skaneateles - a very nice little village. We'd checked for Inns in the area, and this is one that looked interesting. They had a great winter special on ($99/night incl. breakfast buffet, and buy one, get one dinner entre at the Sherwood Inn), and with free underground parking, it... More

We loved it. It was the perfect getaway for our very hectic lives. We arrived at noon and were aware we could not check in until 3. We were given our parking pass so we could park. We then wandered the beautiful village, and decided to check to see if our room was ready at 2 - and it was!!... More

Everything about our room was nice. The comfort, the view, and general condition of the room. Not enough pillows or extra blankets but we didn't request more. The room was really a living area and a bedroom area. The television was not viewable from the living room area where it could be used by the night owls. Our room was... More

Only stayed one night but found the hotel quite noisy due to traffic outside the hotel since it is on the main road. The room was not ready until very late afternoon, it was after 4:00 by the time it was ready. The room was good size & the bathroom was nice, but the carpet was in desperate need of a... More

I stayed 2 nights in April at the Packwood House which is owned by the same folks as the Sherwood Inn. There is a stark difference between the two properties though. The Packwood House is modern and clean. The location is perfect. I stayed in room 314. The rate for a king room was $220 with tax. It has a... More

The Packwood House is located on the main street in Skaneateles, NY right across from the lake. It's a quaint little town with many unique shops to browse in. Although the hotel was nice, there was nothing spectacular about it. My sister and I went for a girls getaway/shopping trip. We wanted to stay at the Sherwood Inn, but it... More

Great spot once we found it; I neglected to read the entire lengthy confirmation letter which says to check-in at the Sherwood Inn, once that was done we found the free underground parking and off to our room. Now this is what I call 'luxury', beautiful appointed bathroom, real tile, real granite, lots of fluffy towels. The bed was sooo... More
