I beg to differ kay97, the trip i went on was in the summer of 2010. I traveled with one friend. The trip wasn't that bad considering it was only a two hour drive from the nearest airport. The staff which is still the same staff i presume, were one of the nicest group of people i had ever met.... More

Our family stayed at Al Tarfa Desert Sanctuary for three nights in October 2011. We were very much looking forward to a stay in the Sahara desert. The lodge looks very nice on the internet and gets good Reviews. Given the extremely high prices they charge for a stay we expected something like a high-end safari lodge in the desert.... More

Seven friends and family traveled to Al Tarfa in January 2010. We spent 5 magnificent days there. It was sublime, peaceful, fascinating and beautiful. The service was impeccable and flavored with kindness and the best hospitality one could hope for. Everyone wore a smile. Even the dog. Oh, I must mention the food.....it was delicious, organic, light and diverse. We... More

I stayed at Al Tarfa in May 2010, for 4 days. We flew into the Asuit and travelled 400km to the resort, flew back from Kharga at 200km away. The long trips didn't bother us though would defer other travellers no doubt, especially those visiting for the weekend only from Cairo. Though the charming Wael, the nanaging partner, explained that... More

This hotel is really special - the rooms are scattered throughout - each is different with its own courtyard and terrace overlooking beautiful desert scenery. The service is ecellent. Each meal is served in a different place depending on the weather and time of day and the meals are healthy and creative. We visited several archeological sites and an ancient... More

This is one of the most exceptional traveling experiences I've ever had (out of over 80 countries visited). Everything about teh lodge is magical - the location, views, service, food....Our kids loved it - lots to explore and a very kid-friendly staff. The desert around Dakhla is stunning. More

Al Tarfa is a pearl of the Egyptian desert. Clients are welcomed as kings. The rooms are superb and the cuisine is excellent. The service of the staff and owener-host is perfect and their hospitality is personnal and extreme. Location: oasis between el Qasr en Dakhla. A small, but great accommodation. More
