We stayed at Hotel Al Quseir together with my wife and stepdaughter in July 2008.

The hotel is an old building just across the road from the sea. We really liked that feel of a historical place and older times which the hotel certainly preserves by having traditional design of a house and providing warm-hearted atmosphere.

Our room was quite big and it had a sea view. It was also furnished quite well. The Hotel has very high ceilings which gives the room a particularly spacious feel. First two days we didn’t have an air conditioner, but hotel staff set it up later on, so that made our stay even more comfortable.

There are places to swim right in front of the hotel (for men only) and there are a good number of outstanding (very secluded and quite) beaches 10-15 kms out of town. The staff was helpful to arrange the trips when needed.

A nice Coptic Church, a few very old mosques (going back 200 or 300 years) and a...
