We have stayed at 5-star hotels and simple hotels. We found Chez Vaco through word of mouth and walked in to check it out. All the expensive hotels in the area were booked. What we found is a small hotel with clean, comfortable, and well-designed rooms. Clean shower with single-handle control and goot temperature and pressure control. We had tried another place that had an odd contraption for adjusting the water temp. and pressure. Good bathroom set up, overall. The room: Very simple, and perfect for us. We are a couple with a 23-month old little boy. We met nice fellow travelers of all ages and "configurations". The breakfast was excellent and reliably similar every day: I took tea, a basket of bread and croissants, butter (it will be soft unless you get there at 7.30am), jams (sometimes in little packets and sometimes scooped out from a jar onto a little glass plate), fresh fruits cut up nicely (pineapple slices, papaya, kiwi, bananas, oranges) varying each day, and yogurt... more
