Great hotel where everything is absolutely high quality and yet relaxed and down to earth. We had two amazing weeks and there was plenty to do - even in the rainy weather.
The hotel comes up with many small great details that makes a big difference. The all inclusive is the best option, so you can enjoy it all.
We went to the le Morne mountain which was a great hike.
We also did the zipline in the 23 coulered earth which was fun.
We can highly recommend the hotel driver Iqbal - he gave us a great sightseeing trip, insights into the island and a better understanding of the people living on it. It is more expensive than a taxi - but definately worth it if you are doing sightseeing. But most of the time we just enjoyed the great service and comfort of the beach.

This was our 3rd holiday at Lux Le Morne, and once again we had a fantastic holiday. We stayed in one of the first floor rooms near the Ocean Restaurant and were very happy with the standard of the room and housekeeping throughout.
If you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting then Le Morne is an ideal location. You have fantastic views from the beach of the clear blue sea with the back drop of Le Morne mountain. The kite surfing school which is half a mile away is well worth a visit, even if you dont wish to take part. It provides some great photographic opportunities.
What sets Lux apart is the very personal service from the staff. It was great to be remembered by so many of them and once again meet some old friends. Its unfair to single people out but we got to know Nival, Neha, Karal, Vijay, Natasha and Keshau over our 10 day stay and they looked after us well.
Our favourite restaurant was East, partly because the personal service there was so good. We remembered Roodee from the past and he in particular looked after us very well.
I am a keen runner and was able to run early every day, completing a loop from the hotel along the road and back towards the town and then through the trail at the entrance to the mountain walk. It is very humid in December so watch the heat. We went up the mountain trail 3 times and really enjoyed the views.
Many thanks to the team at Lux Le Morne for once again providing us with an exceptional holiday experience.

Arriving at LUX* Le Morne was a very welcoming experience. The resort is breathtaking and situated on a beautiful west facing beach which gives way to magnificent views in all directions. This picturesque resort does not disappoint and the atmosphere is very chill and relaxed, which is exactly what we look for on vacation. The attentiveness of the kind reception staff was always a pleasure. Sorry for not mentioning names, but everyone was wonderful! Upon arriving in our Prestige Suite, it was immediately apparent that the room was more beautiful than the website photos! The indoor/outdoor shower, the quality of furnishings and upkeep of this place is quite impressive. Settling in and venturing out to discover the resort directly from our private beachfront patio was exceptional. Having two of our adult children (19 & 24) traveling with us, it was a much needed family reunion and their Superior room was located very close to us. Our side of the resort was quiet and very much appreciated. The beach is very beautiful and we enjoyed many water sports during our stay. Kudos to the staff at the Sports Center, your kindness meant a lot to us. On a half board option, we had the option to taste the amazing menus of EAST (happily with supplement) and The Beach restaurants, along with The Kitchen leaving us with an overall feeling of great satisfaction amidst such such beautiful decors. The beach Fire Show and managers cocktail evening were a great hit amongst all the guests! This would not be a fair review if I did not point out a few other details. As a fairly new vegetarian, it was my responsibility to indicate this when we were asked upon arrival if we had an nutritional needs. I feel I can always find something on offer that will suit my appetite, so I did not make special requests. Breakfast every morning for me consists of fruit and there were not many varieties at all like at Grand Gaube where we had transferred from and having the delicious choices every morning of Mangos, Dragonfruit amongst many others. The staff however were as accommodation as possible always searching for some avocados and oranges for me. Thank you for your extra efforts! No problem for other meals which offered great choices. The Superior room looks very lovely on the website and this was our choice for our two adult aged children. However, as it was a room hidden under a staircase on the ground level, it was a little darker than what we hoped for and full of moisture. The entire floor was very wet, including the clothes, and the moisture level was extreme even with the a/c. Luckily though, a helpful person from reception finally came to our rescue and brought us a large dehumidifier, which thankfully dried up the room and everything was fine. We also encountered a WiFi issue in that room. We do very much appreciate all efforts of the staff. Thank you kindly to the best Assistant Manager for your friendliness, conversations and recommendations of the mountain bike excursion, plus hiking Le Morne which we absolutely loved! This being our 5th LUX* Resort vacation, we continue to be fans and see you next year!

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful resort for 10 days during January 2020. It was super relaxing, we had a great and unforgettable time.
We booked a junior suite, had a lot of space and really felt cosy in there. Room service came twice a day, for cleaning in the morning and for a last check up in the evening. Two bottels of complementary water were provided in the room everyday.
Food was exellent and there was a huge variety of different things to choose from the buffet everyday.
All the employees in the resort are so friendly and helpful. Everyone you see has a smile on his/her face. Especially Selvina: it was so nice to meet her, she took care of us from the first minute on when we arrived. During our stay she was always there for us whenever we needed her. Thank you so much for everything you did.
We can totally recommend to spend holidays at Lux le Morne.

We booked two hotels for our trip to Mauritius with two children, one on the west coast and one on the east coast.
Starting with the positives
1. The location is fantastic. The beach is lovely and lies in a stunning location at the foot of the le Morne mountain.
2. The rooms are of a decent size
Unfortunately that’s where the positives end so into the negatives (all reasons why this is NOT a 5 star hotel
1. We ordered room service breakfast by putting our order on the door before going to bed as specified however in the morning nobody had removed the ticket with the order and we didn’t receive the breakfast. We then called reception to get the issue rectified but had to wait 1h for our breakfast.
2. Upon finishing the breakfast nobody came to remove it and insects started to come attracted by the dirty plates. I called reception to have them removed and went to the beach returning an hour later to find them still there. I had to call again and finally someone came to collect them.
3. We didn’t have a sunbed at the beach during our stay because guests wake up and put their towels and bags on the bed in the morning to save them and leave them there all day so if you haven’t done this which we would never do as frankly it’s not a way to behave then no sunbed. Hotel has a policy that items left will be removed after 40 mins but it’s not enforced so doesn’t work.
4. Smart casual dinner dress code also not enforced so you find yourself dressed for dinner next to someone in addidas shorts and flip flops. Either have a dress code or don’t!
5. The food is of really poor quality. The best is at the beach restaurant but even there the food is mediocre.
6. Management don’t deal with issues in a way that I find satisfactory. All the issues above were raised and as an apology we were offered a glass of Prosecco at lunchtime. This is really inadequate compensation for Al the issues experienced, not to mention the fact that I am breastfeeding and don’t drink alcohol so even this pathetic offering was of no use to me.
7. They offer a baby food service and since one of my children was 6 months at the time of travel I filled in the order for the duration of the stay for breakfast, lunch and dinner as instructed. Unfortunately I only received the food on two occasions and for the remainder of all meals was greeted with confused faces when I requested the baby food and we were offered mashed potato instead which is really not an appropriate food for a baby to eat at every meal.
We had high hopes for this hotel but we were so disappointed. In comparison to other hotels we have stayed in around the world this matched up to a 3 star at most unfortunately. I felt sorry for people who were there on honeymoon or getting married.

We chose Lux Le Morne for our trip in Mauritius and we couldn't have made a better choice. The location is unbelievably beautiful: situated at the base of Le Morne mountain, with the blue and clear waters of the Indian Oceans in front, you are going to spend everyday with iconic views and amazing sunsets. We also loved the design and choice of colors of the hotel. The rooms feel luxurious, but very homey, giving you a sense of calm every time you walk in. The outside shower is a great addition (for the Prestige Junior Suites) and we also very much enjoyed spending our evenings on the terrace, just reading or laying around. We truly felt we were in Paradise for a few days. Rest assured that any problem you have, they will know how to handle it. Staff is very friendly and attentive to your needs.
Tip: When you get there, make sure you secure a sea urchins tasting and a private dinner at Vik's! His passion for cooking translates in the tasty Mauritian dishes he makes (I can feel de flavors all over again). Add a little of his rum punch and you got your perfect evening by the beach.
To close, we just want to send a big THANK YOU to everyone, but especially Isabel, Vik, Jason and Daminee. "The people make the place" quote applies to you all. You are the soul of this beautiful jem :)
Can't wait to see you next year!

The Lux team at Le Morne were all first class who took an interest in our wellbeing and enjoyment on and off the premises.

The rooms, facilities and location of Le Morne have not disappointed. Our room was in great condition and located next to the beach. The facilities had everything we required without feeling too big. Le Morne is in a lovely unspoiled location close enough to many island attractions and far enough from the busier parts of the island like Port Louis. It felt perfect.

My youngest daughter (9yrs) was well taken care of by Ruth in the kids club who came to collect her after breakfast most mornings and enriched her with various art sessions which my daughter loved.

A special thanks to Justine who answered all our questions, requests and helped keep our holiday to the resort and island in good order with advice and recommendations. We loved the personal touch and always being there for us.

Rodee and Audrey and their colleagues always made extra effort to ensure our meals were enjoyable and to our satisfaction.

As mentioned in other reviews, the sea urchin tasting is a must for seasoned connoisseurs, newbies and especially those who would never imagine tasting an urchin. I was always disgusted by the thought of trying it but mustarded up the courage after reading all the positive reviews. Vik, the local urchin specialist picked and masterfully prepared these fresh delicacies just prior to our arrival. Thank you for this delicious experience and sharing all you knowledge of the island and resort with us Vik.

Our stay at Lux Le Morne will be one of our most memorable holidays that we will cherish forever. We look forward to visiting again soon!

Location: le morne is perfect for holiday and lux is in a nice position , close to the snorkeling and the kite spot (around 30 minutes walk from the beach). Please note that around the hotel there are only other resorts, the closest village is La Gaulette . La gaulette offers cash machine and supermarket, you can go there by taxi (around 1000 MRU round trip) and taxi waits for you during your shopping or you can rent the bike at the hotel

Room: it is nice, huge bathroom. They provide 2 liters water complementary each day and there are also dispenser of water with fruit taste at the beach. It is nice they apply the reducing plastic waste. Cleaning time should be improved, room cannot be cleaned at 16 in the afternoon. However they re assess the room during dinner time.

Food: we had dinner at the kitchen restaurant. It is buffet , we found very nice food , a lot of variety. To be mentioned explicitly the Mauritian corner where 2 nice and kind ladies (mum and daughter) prepare nice local food. They are happy to share their local food and how they prepare . All the staff at the kitchen is very nice.

Entertainment/activities: the hotel has several acitivies during the day. We want to highlight the boat house. We had snorkelling and wakeboard with them. Those activies are complementary. I really appreciated their guideline to me for the wakeboard, thanks to them i managed to stand up and enjoy this water activity. They are very kind and we were happy at the end of our holiday to provide a tip to them (note that the pooling tip will not include the boat house). We also rented bikes, I think the hotel could offer those as complementary instead to pay. Supermarket is in la gaulette. It is not to far away from the hotel, around 40 minutes slow pace with the bike.
Staff at the reception is very kind and always ready to support you. It is worth to tip those workers in the pool tip. They are working hard and salary in Mauritius is not too much

Taxi: there are taxi in front of lux le morne. For airport transfer I used the taxi service Mauritian airport taxi. They offer transfer to and from airport at 1700 MRU and you can also pay in euro or dollars.

We got married here 2 years ago and while we were visiting Mauritius again we arranged to visit the hotel and some of the lovely people we met when we stayed there 2 years ago. We were greeted from our taxi and led in to the foyer, where we sat down and was given a nice refreshing drink. We already were very familiar with the hotel and surroundings so didn’t really need to know about where things were.
We were then greeted once again by the lovely Seeya who remembered us from 2 years previous, she then was so kind and walked us along the beautiful gardens and asked if we would like a lounger on the beach, within a few minutes one of the beach attendants set up our beds with towels all neatly tucked in and asked if everything was ok with the loungers.
After about 10 minutes he returned with a fresh coconut full of a lovely boozy sorbet with 2 straws and our names written on the side of the coconut fantastic what a welcome. We chilled out for quite a while and went for a lovely lunch in the restaurant the food here is amazing and plenty of it too. We had a lovely walk around the grounds taking a few pictures as we went and then went to see if Manie our wedding coordinator was there. As soon as she saw us both we were greeted with a big hug and she rushed off and brought us both a glass of cold champagne, wow what a lady Manie is such a nice caring person and thoughtful too.
All in all our day out at Lux le Morne brought some beautiful memories back to us and we cannot thank the staff we met enough especially Seeya and Manie.
Thank you so much Lux le Morne we will return.

I honestly will state that this hotel is extremely overpriced for what it is worth and only thing that is keeping those hotels along Le Morne Beach alive, is the location itself which is an absolute bliss.

The rooms are very badly maintained as there are heavy signs of wear and tear, paint marks everywhere, tired furnishing and rooms. especially the flooring is well overdue for a refurbishment.

On the first day after settling into the room, I even found a cup with a full lipstick mark which was completely unacceptable for a hotel like this one.

During my stay I lost one of my Airpods which I last remember it being on the bed. I suspect it was misplaced during the bed change - unintentional of course, but I wish they were just a bit more careful.

The spa centre facilities is a joke, they only have a tiny area which has a sauna, steam room and a jacuzzi, which was full what appeared to be scum and dirt, perhaps from previous users? I would however, would like to mention that 95% percent of the staff I have interacted with are really polite, friendly, accommodating and professional.

I especially would like to thank Saynesh, who provided an excellent massage treatment - probably one of the best professional therapists in Mauritius.

I would also like to thank the staff for accommodating us as Muslims by providing us with plentiful halal food options, equipping the suite with prayer mats and even installed a sprayer (ala bidet) in the toilet.

Overall, great location, very, very pleasant staff (apologies I can't remember most of their names), nice food but I would like to try a different hotel in my next visit to Le Morne but the poroblem is that there aren't any hotels along the beach that are worth what they are asking for.

Hi. You have to book East when you arrive, however it is always really busy. Ref Viks , we did get invited, but sadly couldn’t go in the end. What I did do was to email ahead of time and ask if we could go to Viks as it was a surprise for my Husband. I received a message back saying yes,he had booked a place for us. May be worth a try . Enjoy your holiday.
