Just got back from 11 nights here and we had a great time. The weather was mainly hot & sunny with occasional down pours of rain but it didn’t spoil anything. It’s breezy but you need the breeze as it’s too hot 😎. Food and wines all good and they catered for my husband who is gluten free. We initially had an economy room but upgraded to a garden view room which was bigger & lighter. There are hairdryers in the room but they’re not brilliant so take your own if you have thick, long hair. This is a no frills hotel but it’s a lovely place to relax and unwind - no pool games or music which was great. We loved it and will return in the future something we would never usually do. Special thanks to the Chefs and Kav who went over & beyond to cater for my husband. Thank you to all the staff for making it a lovely holiday - you are all a credit to the hotel well done 😊

This hotel is in the perfect location. Lovely gardens lead to white sandy beach, (the warmest sea) with plenty of sun beds & helpful staff who provide cushions for beds, parasols and beach towels. It is breezy most of the time but that is very warm & welcome. There is also snorkel equipment to use including kayaks. The hotel itself does need a little modernising in some places but is clean, comfortable and has bags of charm. It has beautiful gardens, well maintained. Food is plentiful & local. Fresh chicken, fish, steak all cooked fresh on a grill each lunch & evening on day rotations throughout the week. A large variety of salads which were all gorgeous with local spices & flavours. Hot food such as curry, stir fry’s and other food with a local influence too. All Buffett basis but no stress about when you eat or booking specially restaurants. All very relaxed and French red, white & rose was very acceptable. All local spirits used in cocktails & included in the package and although the cocktails could have been more memorable in the presentation stakes, they were pleasant enough. No silly plastic glasses which was a bonus, even in the garden. We did a trip around the north of the island that was arranged by reception & was our own taxi driver who took us around, waited for us & provided local info. Had to pay cash at reception, but was fine & avoided a more expensive bus tour which was on offer from TUI at higher cost. Reception were extremely helpful & accommodating especially with check out day timings. We will definitely return. Just the relaxing week we needed. 😊

We had a great time at the hotel with top notch service throughout our stay. Staff was helpful and welcoming, always concerned whether we had everything we needed and if kids were satisfied. Will definitely go back.

Hello, just to share a little advice, never take and pay for a trip/excursion organized by the hotel. They promis you a guide who will guide you and explain you everything but it is only a driver who would not say a single word during the trip because he doesnt know nothing. This is what they call a guide and let you pay for it! I was asking questions about the sites he drove us to but he said either " I dont know" or he said some wrong information. The price/value of the guidance service provided by the hotel is something to be avoided! But when you book the trip, they will promise you all what you want, so don't fall into this trap!

A lower cost All Inclusive hotel and the first impression was it shows. The reception is basic bordering on barren and the check in welcome wasn't much better. Our sea view room was clean with nice bed clothes and towels, TV, fridge, safe, a/c, WiFi but the room does have a dated look with the furniture newly painted but not a bright holiday colour, green. The low cost also showed itself in the limited array of choices both at breakfast buffet and dinner. Drinks offered on AI were decent beer, wines, local alcohol with mixers and a small selection of cocktails. The saving graces were the very good white sand beach and stunning blue sea and the staff. The waiters dinner and breakfast, at the bar, even the beach towels chap, all very friendly and efficient, better than some more expensive hotels we've stayed in. All in all good value for money although the repetitive limited range of food might become irksome after 5 days.

We had a really great stay at the hotel. Although it is a bit dated, everything was very clean and tidy. Nothing broken so it doesn't matter that the furnishings are a slightly dated colour. The swimming pool was very well looked after as was the gardens. The staff were very pleasant and helpful as well. There was plenty of choice when it comes to the food. No one could possibly say that they could not find anything they liked to eat. Most of the meat dishes were cooked in front of you while the rest were kept warm under covers. So no food left lying out in the open. All the food was nice and hot and a great choice. The only thing to be aware of is that it's not really suitable for people with walking disabilities. There are lots of stairs to go up and down from reception to the rooms and again to the restaurant. We tried to extend our stay as we were enjoying it so much, but unfortunately they were fully booked. The hotel is on a windy side of the island but also perfect for kite surfers. We would be very happy to recommend this hotel.

Enjoyed our stay. 14 nights on an all inclusive basis. It's a long review but hopefully helpful 🙏😀 The positives. *Very good staff throughout. Very helpful and the front desk accomdated a late checkout which was very welcome. *Lovely view from our room on the top floor (401) For me nothing like going asleep and waking to the sound of the sea. However sliding door to balcony very effective in keeping out sound if you want. My wife is a light sleeper so the blackout curtains were welcomed and effective. Two chairs and a small table on the balcony. *Hotel had a very nice relaxed vibe in a great location. A smaller hotel with no rushing for sunbeds if sunbathing is your thing. I enjoyed the sun on my balcony every morning. If you want to sunbathe the beds are on a grassed area overlooking the beach with plenty of mature trees for shade. Free snorkelling equipment, pedalos, canoes and the like for guests. Bring suitable swimming shoes as there are some small rocks and coral. Coral is dead I am afraid but did see a variety of fish and the water is very clean and clear. Some common areas in the hotel a little tired but safe and maintained. *Rooms a little tired and would benefit from refurbishment. However there was nothing potentially dangerous, everything worked, doors closed correctly and there was plenty of hot water. In my experience you do not worry about hot water until you cannot get any! 😀 A built in wardrobe in our room with plenty of shelves and hangers. Also bedside tables with lamps and a drawer each. In addition a dressing table with a stool. Fridge in another cupboard which was cold as it should be with a TV on top which received BBC World and other foreign and domestic channels. A large complimentary safe is in the wardrobe The air conditioning was very effective and most importantly very quiet, particularly on its night setting. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room and a complimentary 2 litre bottle of water supplied each day/ as required. If you require more drinking water you can pick up a carafe in the restaurant. Rooms effectively and thoroughly cleaned every day and no concerns there at all. A mixture of UK three pin plugs and continental. * The local 55 bus stops outside the hotel which will take you into Flacq. At time of writing 40 rupees per adult each way. Market on Sunday and Wednesday in Flacq which is right next to the bus station/ terminus. Check market days and last return bus time for yourself of course. Again the reception staff will put you right. Also in fact hired a car through an agent recommended by the hotel reception. Was the cheapest after doing some research, no credit card details retained (paid cash) or passport. Car supplied, a Suzuki Celerio, was brand new and big enough for 4 adults. I was driving and am 6 feet 3 inches tall with an adult sitting behind me. Of course make sure anything you rent suits your own needs. Extra fees charged if you pay by credit card. Car was delivered and collected from the hotel which was very welcome as the hotel is out of town. More on this later. The negatives. There is really only one from our perspective. * The food. On many occasions it was cold / lukewarm even at the start of the breakfast, lunch and dinner services. On one occasion a manager in the dining room at breakfast said the food was always hot when service started. I politely suggested that it needed to be hot throughout. In fact another manager tried the food following my suggestion during one dinner service. He agreed it was not hot enough. Standard and variety on occasion also disappointing. On occasion the food was good, a freshly prepared stir fry comes to mind. Actually prepared and cooked whilst you waited. However this was very rare during our stay. I might have imagined it but perhaps the food was slightly hotter on occasion after I had made my comments? To conclude. The hotel is small and for me that is a benefit. It had a friendly and relaxed vibe during our stay. It was quiet (seen as low season) as well with a middle age clientele in the main. It's what I like but it may not be for you. No lound music or real facilities for children if the pool and beach are not enough? There are no restaurants and bars outside so you want the food in the hotel to be good and varied with local Mauritian options. Well at least we do and yes there were Mauritian options. You can get a taxi to the nearby village or walk if you are brave. However there are no pavements on the mainly unlit road and it's a potentially hazardous walk even in the day with fast moving traffic doing its best to avoid wandering dogs and cyclists with no lights at night. We went to the Green Island Restaurant on three occasions during our stay. It really showed the difference in food quality and I have left a separate review on Tripadvisor. I appreciate the hotel is catering on mass but hot food is surely something that can be achieved? There is talk of hotel refurbishment in the near future. I hope that means the hotel does not lose that great vibe that it has. Sympathetic refurbishment, retain the vibe and staff, and hot food at all times should make Silver Beach even more of a good if not great 3/ 4 star hotel to stay in on Mauritius. Any questions feel free to ask. I said it was a long review 😉

The hotel was a disappointment. The room didn’t have a closet, the coffee machine was disgusting. There were sharpie marker numbers on the shower wall. That screams to be that it has not been clean. There was sand all over the floor. No desk in the room. The tv was damaged. The only thing the hotel has going for them is the great location. This was our first and last stay.
