I made a risky move during my 2 week safari with my family, and drank little to know water. That said, I fell victim to sun-stroke, dehydration, and a respiratory infection I must have caught on the plane over. Miserable timing right? Well I spent those sick days here, at Manyara Ranch, so I don't know all about the night... More

Manyara Ranch was the first stop on our family's two-week self-drive safari (organized by the fabulous Fortes Safaris). What a kick-off! We loved this sweet place. At the time (July 2012) it was managed by a great couple -- Ruan from South Africa, and his lovely girlfriend Svenja from Germany. Ruan, despite being new to the camp, was incredibly knowledgeable... My wife and I stayed here for two nights during the second week of Feb, it was wonderful, truly wonderful. The tents are beautiful, very well appointed, very clean , as good as many a 5 star hotel. Don't ask me how they do it somewhere so remote but they manage to give you a proper flushing toilet and uninterrupted... More

I was looking forward to this place but in hindsight think we should have saved our money and gone elsewhere. Obviously wildlife is wild, so you can never be sure what you are going to get, but my wildlife viewing at Manyara Ranch was easily the weakest of my Tanzanian leg. I arrived in mid-January after a wet November and... More

We stayed at Manyara Ranch for 2 nights at the end of our 7 day safari. We were so excited to stay there after everything we had read and heard about it. The setting is beautiful, the tents are wonderfully appointed and extremely comfortable, and the activities in which we participated (an early morning walk on which we spotted elephants,... More

We could not have been better looked after or made more comfortable than at Manyara Ranch. Everybody was so friendly, they could'nt seem to do enough for us. We loved the food and the dining experience, conversations and laughs with fellow travellers around the table were most enjoyable. The accomodation was excellent, nothing like a tent we have ever been... More

This was the one place that we chose on our safari - it was to be our special stop during the trip. I must say the tents are absolutely phenomenal, as is the food. It was a beautiful place to stay and be at peace in nature. We didn't necessarily see much that we didn't see in the other parks... More

A lovely lodge in a conservancy, rather than a national park, which means you can do guided walks, horseback safari, and night game drives. The staff are wonderful and very accommodating. We took our young son with us and he was doted on by all the staff and had a wonderful time. They even baked him his own loaf of... More

When my driver pulled up to the ranch, I immediately thought he must have taken me to the wrong place. We seemed to be in the middle of nowhere, and there was nobody around. Then out of no where, the manager and staff arrived to greet me. They walked me back to the main tent, and I was taken aback.... More

The opportunity arose for us once more to return to Tanzania. We had heard of this new style camp in it's embrionic stage. So it was fabulous to see it well established. We were fortunate to stay three nights and then another on our return from Ngorongoro Crater. The camp is small and intimate. There are six guest tents that are... More
