The Hilltop Lodge was absolutely perfect in every way! The rooms were gorgeous- lots of Tanzanian atmosphere, very upscale. There was electricity for several hours each evening, and there was hot water (!!!) thanks to a solar heated tank behind our cabin. The cabins have amazing porches- we were up on a mountain, and could see for miles around, and no sign of civilization anywhere. The owner, Alban, is one of the kindest people I have ever met in my whole life. He was extremely personable, and made our stay extra special- even ordering out a birthday cake when he heard one of our friends was having a birthday! We had entertainment in the lodge- Masaii dancers- and met people from Tanzania, Germany & Holland. The food was amazing. Really scrumptious! I just cannot say enough good things about this lodge! We also used their tour guide, Augustini, to take a tour of the park. He was outstanding! We saw leopards, cheetahs, lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, impalas... more
