Wow! After a long and very rutted track we passed a small crater lake and then soon after came to Jacana. Far from anywhere. Providing you find frog and cicada noises restful, it is a very relaxing place. On a very short walk from the hotel (unwise to go too far) we found colobus and vervet monkeys, along with a... More

This is the worst lodge we have ever experienced. Electricity was only on for a few hours in the morning and evening and was turned off without warning at different times than advertised. Water was disgusting and smelled of something like sulphur. Bathrooms were horrible and when electricity was off pretty well unuseable for showers and washing. Cabins were filled... More

Jacana is a wonderful experience. From the moment of arrival, having driven past Black and white colobus on the road and walked past a cloud of butterflies into the reception you know that this is paradise! The cabins are large and comfortable, lots of hot water. The environment is alive and lush, the staff are delightful and the food is... More

Jacana Safari Lodge is a real gem, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Mweya, inside it's lush forest, along a beautiful private (!!) lake. The cabins blend away in the environment, monkeys feed in front of your window, hyraxes and bats overhead, Kingfishers zit through the undergrowth. Mornings you can hear the distant shrieks of chimpanzee and the... More

We moved here as an alternative to the lodge our tour operator booked. It was high season so the choice was limited. But we were very happy to give up a game drive to find this oasis. It's a fifteen minute drive from the main road, but the scenery is nice. The lodge is on a beautiful lake in the... More

We stayed 2 days / 1 nights in March 2012, with our 8 year all daughter. The lodge is nicely located on a lake in Queen Elizabeth National Park, breakfast and dinner excellent, staff extremely friendly. Highly recommend

A great place with very friendly people. Great accommodation on the shore of a crater lake. Very quiet and exclusive. Good food, well served. Very professional. Good value for your money.

Friendly and professional welcome into this well situated lodge. Cosy and comfortable setting. Large bungalows in traditional african style, very nice restaurant and bar, very quiet place. Beautiful view on the water. Swimming pool. Close to the Queen Elizabeth National Park. A place we highly recommend.

Lovely stay! The pictures, do not do this place justice. Beautiful, rustic location. Great food and plenty of it! Massage was a great deal at $20 an hour. Wish we could have stayed longer. The staff was wonderful. Definitely splurge on the captains table for a sunrise breakfast. The only negative for me was the smell of the shower water.

A good lakeside location with a spacious chalet. We stayed 3 nights. Generally all good rather than 'that special place'. Our chalet was clean and well serviced and water was hot. We missed not having a lakeside view from the balcony - the trees in front (lakeside) could be removed - to let more light and air into the place.... More
