Stayed at the "Royal" hotel in Aug 2009 for 5 nights, got a great rate for $200 a nigh and when the taxi drove up Iwas in love, the exterior was the nicest by a long shot. The bell boy took our stuff right away, though there were a bunch of people we only waited 7 minutes on line, the... more

500$ a day for small 3 persons room. with stained carpets, torpid staff, dirty territory, the swimming pool closes at 5pm, because of insufficient illumination (claim of the life guard). there were neither glasses nor minibar in the room. No bathrobe, and only 2 towels per person. It took a room service from half an hour to 5 hours to... more

My brother and I got a very good price for this 5 star deluxe hotel at the Dead Sea. Our bad experience began when arriving to the hotel parking lot. The place was a mess and the person in charge didn't really care. The room was huge, but nothing else than that. The bathroom didn't even have a proper waste... more

Appearance: On the outside, this is by far the nicest Dead Sea hotel with a modern look to it. Inside, it's a little run down. Furniture is worn out and facilities not maintained enough. The sofa in our room was lopsided, and the shower drain was clogged giving us a bathtub experience. Service: Although we didn't call the hotel service,... more

This hotel seems rather annonimous, a general high standard but - food excepted - nothing that would demand a return visit. The Food is really too good, and too pleantiful, vast amounts of food that becon, and one can barely avoid the herd mentality of the dining room feeding frenzy; a three day stay can be hard on the diet... more

The Royal Hotel is built high above ground level, so that you have to have mountain-goat-like skills to climb to the entrance. I was there for four days and was virtually held prisoner there because I just dreaded the thought of climbing up such a steep incline. Definitely not for Senior Citizens. The food was excellent--plentiful and a terrific variety.... more

We spent two nights at the Royal Hotel on a plan including two meals per day. The room and amenities were very good; we were given an end room with a private sun deck (in addition to the balcony). The Israeli breakfast was impressive, and the quality of the food for both breakfast and dinner was excellent. A large teachers'... more

My wife and I stayed at the Royal for three nights during Thanksgiving week as part of a group of about 100 English speakers. All but one of our meals (half-board) were with the regular guests of the hotel, our Thanksgiving meal being the exception. We found the public areas to be clean and well-maintained, as was our room. The... more

The nicest thing about the Royal is the pool - a true oasis in the harsh desert. The hotel is located about 100m and across the street from the dead sea. The actual hotel was most likely nice in its day but that day may have been awhile ago. It seems that the overall hotel is not as well maintained... more
