We stayed in the Palat for 2 nights in late September, at the end of harvest. We had the rose room, very large, with a private bath just down the hall next to our room, which was not a problem because there are so few rooms. Both were very clean and well-appointed - very comfortable bed. The view from our... More

Im not sure what I expected from the pictures but I was just a bit underwhelmed by Moulin du Palat. First off, it was incredibly hard to find. No sign that we could see from the road but everything in France is that way. When we arrived we were met at the door as if we were soliciting something. When... More

We were excited to return to Le Moulin du Palat after enjoying a wonderful stay in 2007. Upon arrival we were greeted by Leo rather than Madam de Malet-Roquefort. It took a few minutes to realise there was something not quite right. After discussing our accommodation - the self contained flat off to the side of the main house we... More

we had a lovely room with the en suite bathroom down the hall--there was a curtain across the hall to make it en suite. It was an easy walk into the village and the owners were very friendly. There was a cat and lots of family pictures as well as an eclectic collection of objects in the house. Nice swimming... More

We stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed Le Moulin du Palat. It is a 5-10 walk to the village and we were happy to be staying out of town and in the vineyards. We received a warm welcome, and the room was comfortable and had nice views out to the vineyards. Would stay again there.

Le Palat is a delightful country house just outside Saint-Emilion. The three small guest rooms, all quite comfortable and nicely furnished, look out on the glorious vine-clad hillsides of La Gaffeliere, one of the great vintages of the region. It's a magnificent panorama. The house is an attractively converted mill with a nice pool and ample parking. A somewhat basic... More

My friends and I recently stayed in this beautiful B&B right near St Emilion town (stumbling distance). From our warm welcome by the owner, Laure to the marvellous breakfast and extremely comfortable beds and very reasonable prices we couldn't fault it at all. The owners even secured us a dinner reservation in the best restaurant in town that was fully... More

We had the most wonderful time staying in the Yellow Room at Le Palat! Madame Laure was a fantastic hostess, and was very friendly to me with my broken knowledge of French. The house is lovely and just what I pictured for a B&B nestled among the vineyards of St Emilion, and the location could not be better -- a... More

This is really a gem, in perfect walking distance from St. Emillion (8 minutes to the town square) but nestled among vines, vines, vines! La Madame was a quintessentially French hostess -- and I mean that in the best way. Talkative, funny, charming, eccentric, but all manners and hospitality from the first phone call to waving us goodbye. We got... More

Although the owners spoke little French, they were very welcoming and accommodating and showed us a great time. The old house is beautiful with lots of character and charm, but with it a little tired. Great location, within walking distance to St Emilion. Great value for money, definitely recommended.
