Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

We stayed in room 22 which had a fabulous view of the bay from the balcony and overlooked the pool. The apartment itself was very tired looking and needs to be modernised, some of the furniture was badly scratched and needs to be replaced. This didn't detract from our holiday experience just an observation. The apartment was cleaned every day and the cleaner did a good job of changing the towels and linen every few days. The pool area was lovely and there was a poolside bar which served snacks and drinks all day. They seem to allow people who are not guests to use the pool and occasionally there were a group of teenagers in the pool who were quite noisy and took over. The wifi was intermittent. It was a short walk in to the village which had plenty of restaurants and shops.

Makis village is situated on the road to Sami, opposite to marina in Agia Efimia. We were very satisfied with this choice. The apartment was cleaned every day, which we didn't have anywhere in Greece for last 8 years. The pool area was quiet and clean, you can rest there if you get seak of driving around. The only thing was that we had a room close to the main road so the traffic was a bit louder. But this was opposed with the great sea view... Agia Efimia is small village with a perfect position in the island, with several great tavernas, two markets and a great bakery. The famous Myrtos beach is only 10 min away.

A really warm welcome, the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The apartments themselves were cleverly laid out amongst lush planting, including a lawned sun bathing area, as well as paved area by the pool/cafe bar. Our apartment had balconies back and front with fantastic views over the bay. It came with a small kitchenette and best of all integral mosquito screens. The rooms were immaculately clean, if slightly dated in decor. But for the price we couldn't fault it. We would highly recommend and would visit again if ever in the area. Thank you

The apartments are situated just a few minutes walk downhill to the harbour and tavernas of Agis Efimia in a quiet area ( not counting the local cockerels but this is Greece). We were in apartment No 22 fantastic views to Ithaca and the harbour from the balcony that went round the whole side of the apartment. The rear balcony off the bedroom was great for breakfast as much cooler than the front, fly screens on all doors and windows....did not see a mosquito.Loved the gift of a bottle of local wine and bracelet to welcome us. Fitted kitchen with utensils,hob/oven grill, kettle and T.V. chairs and table on balcony. Lovely swimming pool with bar manned by a lovely girl, book exchange, snacks, icecreams etc. Good value for money and very clean and lovely grounds with lots of different areas to sit in. I would choose No 24 as it has a large balcony looking towards Agia Efimia great for drinks with evening sun.Afia Efimia has a good choice of tavernas and bars, 2 bakeries, pharmacy, supermarkets and was generally cheaper than the south of the island and still retains a village atmosphere.

These apartments are in the quiet village bay of the wonderful Aghia Efemia in Kefalonia of which me and my family have visited often. They are nice and calm and very clean. It is situated on a main fault earthquake line, but where in Greece is not? Makis will give you a good, clean room and the option of a good meal in his restaurant and use of his nice pool. The rest of my review is of the whole bay. If you are looking for peace, tranquility, soul searching, swimming in the wonderful clear waters, you must visit. Some of captain Corelli's Mandolin was filmed here, John Hurt was on the beach and Madonna apparently came in on a yacht to try to get the part of Pelagria which was played by Penelope Cruz. Don't visit if you want endless sandy beaches lots of shops or loud music, no, here you will find quiet hospitality, friendship fom the wonderful people who live in the village, wonderful views, pebbly mini coves, snokerlling, amazing food and wine and warnth not only fron the sun but from the people around you. Also there are various apartments nearby for mixed needs. You can visit Argostoli where Captain Correlli's Mandolin was written and fiimed or Sami or go to or see from Kefalonia the island of Ithica where Charles and Di honeymooned. Lovely. My love goes out to Athena and her family in the main taverna opposite the jetty, thank you for your wonderful friendship and food.

Really good place to spend a couple nights, fun because always full of people, but the studios are set aside and they don't get too noisy. Nice pool, not too big but beautifully placed on the top of the bay. The owner is fun, no complaints in general for this venue.

Great accomodation , wonderful welcome from Makis himself and the lovely Anna who keeps all the rooms absolutely spotless . A very good location on the edge of the village looking over the bay and towards the mountains , near to the pharmacist and within walking distance of the excellent supermarket . Great little pool , with lawns nearby , gardens terraced up the hillside and flowers everywhere . Parking areas are provided but there is a steep road in . We met some lovely people there some of whom had mobility difficulties but all were resolved by choosing one of the various accommodations / paths to suit . A great place to stay and very central for travelling to Assos , Fiscardo , Argostoli , Sami and places South . We especially enjoyed time at the nearby Άγιος Παρασκεβι ( St Friday/ Aghios Paraskevi) where the food was excellent and the swimming fantastic . Looking forward to returning there next year !

We have stayed twice this year, in June and September. The first trip was with family and in September just the 2 of us. It remains a pleasure to spend time at these lovely apartments. our room was kept beautifully clean by Anna, and Panos ran the pool bar efficiently and with a real charm. He knew all the resident's names, kept the pool area clean and was very helpful. The views over both the bay and the mountains will always entice us back, as will the wonderful courtesy shown by Makis and his staff.

We stayed for a week and really loved our experience. Our apartment (number 31) had two double bedrooms a nice living area with two pull out sofa beds, two bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen area. We had air con and a TV. The views were amazing and from either of our two private terraces. The rooms were cleaned regularly and kept spotlessly clean. The swimming pool and snack bar were also very good. There are quite a few steps to some of the apartments so enquire which one suits you best. Would highly recommend this complex.

This is a lovely place. The apartment (32) was spacious and clean - in fact they upgraded us to far more than we'd paid before because we were travelling with a toddler. The gardens and pool were fab for her, indeed for all of us. Enough facilities to cook some nice meals in, and Agia Efimia has plenty of tavernas etc for eating out. Everyone was really nice at Makis but I have to put in a special word for the truly lovely cleaner.
