We were truly apalled with the behaviour of the restaurant staff and every evening was like playing musical chairs, you never knew where you were going to sit in spite of us asking for a none view window (we live by the seaside). We would just like to clarify a few things. Tregarthen's does not have a swimming pool and certainly neither our information sheets nor our website says that we do. There is however an outdoor pool on St Mary's managed the Council of the Isles of Scilly. Also, although the vast majority of our customers are very happy with the standards...
Tregarthen's came recommended but it does not come cheaply!! All the staff were very pleasant however the dining experience here left a lot to be desired!! As the Scillonian 111 docked at St Mary's we could see Tregarthens overlooking the harbour. We were greeted by the hotel porter who took our luggage and then did the short 2 or 3 minute walk to Tregarthens. The hotel looked good from the boat and when we arrived our thoughts were confirmed. We picked the hotel for its location and we were slightly disappointed as the room did not have a seaview. Although the service from the staff was great the hotel really needs an update as the rooms are very dated. This was the first time we have stayed at this hotel, but have visited the Islands many times before.
