The Esplanade is a recently completed apartment block adjacent to the wharf at Whitianga. They apartments appear to be owned separately and booked through a property manager as four of them were advertised in a mortgagee auction in the estate agent next door. As far as we could tell we were the only people in the building for the two nights we were there which was a little surreal. The block has lots of amenities like a gym, sauna, heated pool and security parking. The rooms themselves are also finished very nicely with Bosch appliances, LCD TV and home theatre system and quality furnishings. Our kitchen was too small to be practical however and you had to use the glass cooktop as the only benchspace. more
