We booked this hotel for a last minute trip to NYC. I agree completely with the review from John A. from Milpitas, CA. Our experience was very similar. The reception staff are a bit cool, though not surly, they just don't expend much energy on niceties. Room was small but very clean. The free breakfast is fine. There is plenty... more

We spent 4 nights at this hotel, overall this hotel suited our needs. The hotel was well located to the subway, appr. 10mins walk to subway (safe area to walk, even late at night), and appr. 35mins to Times square. Supermarket, KFC, and woodside shopping area all within walking distance, we visited a few bars in Woodside during our stay,... more

We spent 4 nights in this hotel at the beginning of December. The room was ok, it was small, clean and functional. We paid 470$ for 4 nights in a double room, which seemed reasonable value. The reception is ok. They are talking to you from behind very thick glass which makes you feel like you're in a gangster area... more

The HoJo on Woodside, NY was great. I read most of the reviews here before booking. It met our needs visiting New York. Here are my observations, most have already been said: The front office doesn’t go out of their way to help you. They are not mean, they just don’t believe in greeting their guest. If you can get... more

Good value - very small room, but as we were only sleeping there it didn't really matter. It was clean and well priced. A supermarket is very close by so we could supplement the meager breakfast provided. The train station is barely 5 minutes walk away and for the return journey you pass a quite nice Irish pub. Staff were... more

I originally booked this hotel as a cheap alternative to the expensive hotels in Manhatten (or the cheaper hostels). I am very pleased with my overall experience there. The Room: We stayed in a double room with a Queen bed. It had all the amenities that you would expect including TV, Coffee maker, in room safe, bathroom (bath and shower),... more

After a lot of looking and humming and ha-ing over hotels in Manhattan we decided to look further afield and ended up at this hotel over in Queens. We paid $881 per room (2 rooms) for 6 nights arriving late in the evening. One room had already checked in so there were no problems. Our rooms were on the basement... more

Stayed by myself and loved the King size room. All was clean and comfortable..HBO included..slightly small room. All employees were very nice and helpful. Took the walk to the subway, no bad people were seen, but there are territorial "Gang" symbols sprayed everywhere, but I saw no trouble. Walked to train at 8am and back at 8pm at night. #7... more

This is a great little hotel with excellent housekeeping and maintenance. I don't know about the basement rooms but mine was on the second floor and very nice. Not large but very comfortable bed and everything is maintained in good working order. The staff, with the exception of the morning lady at the front desk, was friendly, well as friendly... more

Hotel location was a 10 minutes walk to the subway. Safe area. Easy access with a GPS but tricky without... Clean room but somewhat small. Breakfast was included - cereals, coffee, juice and muffins - which was great. Overall, for busy visitors like us, this hotel was a great choice. more
