I have went to Boone almost every year since 96 in October and have stayed at many of the chain motels. Two years ago I found this place through this web site and discovered I could have a nice room for about half the price of the chain motels. No swimming pool or breakfast but really nice owners who care... More

We (group of 3 adults) stayed here while skiing in the Boone/Banner Elk area. This is a price-gouging tourist area, but at this motel we were able to get 2 queen beds, a bathroom, a fridge, and a microwave for $95. That is exactly what we needed, which is great, but it's also nothing more. It's clean and the beds... More

Thank you Lauren for the kind review. We do have a hair dryer or two available on request if needed by a guest, just ask. To be fair and clear to future guests, there is a fridge in every room and microwaves in the two large family rooms. I do have an extra microwave and you had the lucky room... More

You will get what you pay for here. Paid $95 for a two queen room at the end of December. The owners are attentive and work to make this a good place to stay. Beds are very firm - probably new. Bathrooms are very clean. The biggest problem is the heat (or air). Ours was impossible to regulate - a... More

I appreciate your review and apologize that we failed to meet all of your expectations. Please note that the listed room cost is the total after adding sales and lodging taxes and not the actual room rate, I hope guests would find our rates reasonable for our area. I can’t dispute the heat/cool system; it is typical of most small... More

An older but clean motel with great owners. Rooms are on the small side, minimally furnished but comfortable. We slept very well and enjoyed our stay. Location is very good with ski areas, hiking and restaurants close by

Thank you for your review. Our 8 rooms vary in size, 2 smaller rooms with 1 queen bed, 4 average rooms with 2 queen beds, and 2 larger rooms with 2 queen beds and 1 twin bed for larger families. Thanks, Jim & Maxine More

I found Hidden Valley on Trip Advisor and booked based on reviews. Jim was very nice on the phone and called to confirm a few days prior. They even waited up for us to arrive after we were delayed while traveling. Our room was clean, quaint and cozy adding touches of country charm throughout. The beds were extremely comfortable. If... We enjoyed our overnight stay at the Hidden Valley. The bed was a little firm for my taste by I slept very well. And I don't usually sleep well the first night of a vacation. If we ever drive the Blue Ridge Parkway again, we would stay here.

Thanks for the nice review, We do try to please our guests. Mattresses were replaced near the end of September, not sure which you experienced, but I'd still call the new ones reasonably firm. Thanks again, Jim More

I found Hidden Valley on Trip Advisor. Our plan was to travel to Blue Ridge Parkway - "halfway", which I was told was Boone, NC. I called Jim, and he's an absolute joy!!! He and Maxine are such wonderful people! They really love meeting the people who stay there, and they go out of their way to make sure each... More

Like staying in a fruend's home...lots of personal touches in the room. Had nice TV, flat screen TV, and frig along With three sodas. No breakfast or pool, but the motel has beautiful wildflowers and interesting antiques everywhere. Clean, reasonable accommodations in a good location near Boone.

We stayed here for one night and had a great stay. There was plenty of room and we also had a small refridgarator and microwave in he room. The gardens on the property also add to the charm as they were beautiful. The price was also very reasonable.

Stayed here for two nights recently and felt very welcome. Jim and Maxine ( the owners) make you feel right at home. Felt like we were staying at our grandparents home - lots of knick knacks in the room and very spacious. Canned soda was left on the counter for us. Room was super clean - cleaner than most chain...
