This property is located acoss the street from a major Charlotte employer and it's generally filled with staff of that company. The property is convenient for driving being very close to the highway and a major thoroughfare and with reasonable parking. My first night at this place so far looking pretty good. I'm on the 8th floor in a King Executive room. The bed is nice with lots of extra pillows etc. As a business traveler the one thing I'm really liking is the lamps by the bed have 2 plugins on the base of each of them!!! This is great... more

The hotel's website had a picture on it that indicated each room had a nice sitting area w/sofa and coffee table. We had connecting rooms with relatives for a weekend wedding and chose Doubletree-Gateway for that reason---a sitting area for socializing. This hotel was very nicely maintained and staffed. The rooms were clean and quiet. The rate was good (weekend stay). You will have to pay for parking though which was about $10 per day. more
