I stayed there overnight on the way home from Antigua. The free shuttle to and from the airport was great, and the hotel is situated very close to the airport. My daughter and I stayed there the night of 3/6/09 because the first leg of our flight to Okinawa, Japan, left Charlotte airport at 10:05 a.m. Saturday, 3/7. If you have a layover in CLT, I highly recommend the Microtel. For around $50 per night, you get a free shuttle bus, a nice continental breakfast, 24-hour coffee and tea, a really comfy bed, free wi-fi in the room, along with unexpected amenities like a hair dryer in the room , friendly staff, and a million cable channels. The first room I was in was indescribably disgusting. So I went to the front desk to get a cleaner room. The second room was a modest improvement.
