The economy in North Carolina is suffering so if wouldn't surprise me to find that even a luxury hotel in Charlotte would reduce their service. Wow, were we surprised. This place was fantastic! Rooms, amenities, service and location superior. Some aspects of the room - namely the somewhat dated shower - were almost ready for rehab or replacement. I stayed at the Wetin Charlotte for 5 nights during a convention. The hotel is well located directly across from the convention center. However, the housekeeping was spotty -- only one bar of soap - needed to move from sink to shower and back again, no body wash, coffee service nice, but often no cream left after housekeeping. Some of the fixtures required maintenance (shower head leaked, and bath tub was nearing its demise) ... but the hotel was clean and completely smoke free. Dining experience was good, just as any other Westin. more
