If you appreciate historic architecture and traditional decor, the Duke Mansion is for you. It's like taking a step back in time. It has rooms of varying size and really comfortable beds. I always try to stay in one of the rooms with a screen porch/balcony. Enjoy your coffee on the porch while looking at the amazing craftmanship of the... more

I stayed at the Duke Mansion for a week on business due to the price and location. It's in the heart of Myers Park which features some of the most beautiful homes in Charlotte, NC. I checked in and my clothes needed to be ironed, so I pulled out the iron and it was broken. I called the front desk... more

Even though I like older houses, I'm not much of a bed-and-breakfast person. I booked this property because the location fit my needs. It was a pleasant surprise. From my initial telephone call to departure, the staff was uniformly friendly and willing to help with anything necessary to make the stay comfortable. The room -- a second floor "porch room"... more

We stayed at The Duke Mansion this past weekend. I would give 3.5 stars if available. We had read up on the mansion and being from the triangle and being a "Duke family" we decided to try out the b&b. The house is impressive from the outside and the grounds are very lovely, even in the August heat. The staff... more

I live in Charlotte and cannot wait to take a trip back to the Duke Mansion!! We booked a room for one night the night before my daughters wedding. The hotel and it's staff were amazing. The room was huge and the bathroom wonderful. The history of the house is also interesting. It was perfect when everyone came the morning... more

I was in Charlotte on business this week and spent two nights in the Dowd Suite. First and foremost, the staff is the greatest asset to the inn. Very warm and friendly, and attentive. The room was gigantic with a wonderful screened porch off the back, two-person marble shower, garden tub, 10 foot ceilings (maybe higher?), flat screen television, wireless... more

Our room was on the 2nd floor and was pretty nice but it sort of looked worn out on some of the details. It had some nice touches such as a flat panel TV and internet access. Breakfast was good and they had a wide selection of goodies. We arrived just as an event was about to get underway and... more

The location and setting are beutiful BUT...my room as well as that of another guest who arrived at the same time smelled so musty both of us went to the front desk to inquire about air freshener. If you have any allergies do not stay at the Duke Mansion. There was visible mildew around the cold air vent! The carpet... more

My wife and I stayed at the Duke Mansion for two nights after getting married before we flew out of town for our honeymoon. We stayed in one of the King Bed rooms and loved it. The bed was super comfortable and the staff provided a complimentary bottle of champagne for our big night. The gardens were beautiful and the... more

I stayed at the Duke Mansion in July and deeply fell in love with this house. The mansion, the grounds were beautiful. But upon closer inspections, there were several details that needed work: 1. The flat sheets on the bed had holes. 2. The screen doors for the sun rooms also had holes. 3. I felt that the place really... more
