The rooms and back patio were very clean and the view is OUTSTANDING.Its the perfect location.I even caught a 4 lb rainbow trout right behind room 101 of the Motel.The people there and all the staff were very helpful and very polite.I look forward to my next trip to Cherokee.I stay at the Newfound lodge everytime I come here.Very quiet... more

When I read some of these reviews I have to wonder if some of these people stay at the same lodge as we did.Sure the place is older but was very clean,every room overlooked the water.We saw no spiders or webs for that matter the balcony was clean,all hotel staff was very friendly and gave us everything we needed.One member... more

Had read a lot of good reviews about this place so we decided we would stay there. Was very disappointed. I had asked for a balcony over the water....didn't get it. The air conditioner was really noisy. The fridge did not work because it needed defrosted and the knob was broke to adjust it. Glad we took a cooler. But... more

Motel was nasty. The room smelled horrible. When I went on the balcony, there were spider webs everywhere. We did not stay the night. We found a motel down the street. It said they had a pool but it was a pool across the street that was shared. more

I had read a lot of positive reviews about this Hotel, so I decided to stay there on a fishing weekend. The room was spacious, odd lay out though. My Aunt And Uncle used to stay in the Newfound Lodge. They introduced it to my family back in the early 1980's. The balconies are great to sit out in the evening/night air just listening to the river. Although I wasn't impressed with much else in Cherokee, NC, the Newfound Lodge was by far the best part of our weekend trip. Situated directly on the river, their spacious, private balconies afforded us a view of the water and was shaded by the trees.
