I got a room for 50 dollars on priceline. I would have been disappointed had I paid the full rate price. The rooms are comfortable...no real extras...no honor bar. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you dine out take the hotel bus and let them pick you up. Parking in Durham is impossible. more

Very nice Marriott situated in a blighted and at best non-descript Durham, NC. Nothing within walking distance of hotel except abandoned stores and Durham Bulls stadium. Downtown is in desperate need of revitalization. Walking around at night is very uncomfortable. On the other hand, Marriott is nice but not one of their best properties. Desk staff very friendly and helpful. more

We just stayed at the Marriott Durham Civic Center hotel and had a great stay. The personnel went out of their way to help us with all of our requests. They also have a shuttle to area shopping centers and restaurants, so once your car is parked it remains there. No charge for parking. The food was excellent at the... more

In order to be close to the Carolina Theatre for a concert, I chose the Durham Civic Center Marriott for my one-night stay. It was a fine choice. The hotel is maintained well, located conveniently in the center of downtown Durham, and run by a great staff. The man who met me at my car to help me with my... more

The former Omni has been renovated (in fact they're still working on some of the rooms, but it wasn't intrusive) with considerably more flair than your standard generic chain hotel usually puts into it. Everything was good--the room service breakfast, the bar drinks, the staff, the bed--and the value was exceptional. We never felt overcharged, which is rare with downtown... more

Location isn't a huge benefit to this hotel, given the state of Durham, (being a town that's a bit blighted and behind the times). However, the hotel is a jewel in these surroundings. Modern room furnishings, a great restaurant/bar, and full-service hotel touches made my stay better than average here. The valet parking is useful, given that the parking is... more

We stayed at the downtown Durham Marriott in December 2007, while our daughter was performing in the TYB Nutcracker at the Carolina Theatre. We had two adjoining rooms, one with a king and the other with two queens. The staff was wonderful! Our bellman was extremely helpful with unloading our car and parking across the street. Any time we needed... more

This hotel is nice but average. The service is excellent the rooms are pretty standard. The restaurant downstairs is pretty pricey and there is no gym on the property. The tell you to go to the YMCA across the street and down a block. I don't think that is very good for a hotel chain like the Marriott to ask... more

We booked stay on priceline for $51 a night, so quite a deal. But rooms were old as were bathrooms. New beds and TV. They said redoing in a few months. Parking was across the street. The YMCA was very nice and about a block away- gave free passes at front desk. The Carolina Theater was accessible from the hotel-... more

The hotel was very nice inside, staff was friendly, and the room was clean. I was lucky enough to get a corner room on the 4th floor with 2 walls of windows, but unfortunately, Raleigh is not much to look at. (I literally had a clear view of the Lucky Strike factory smoke stack. Yipee!) I was there on business,... more
