Very nice Marriott situated in a blighted and at best non-descript Durham, NC. Nothing within walking distance of hotel except abandoned stores and Durham Bulls stadium. Downtown is in desperate need of revitalization. Walking around at night is very uncomfortable. On the other hand, Marriott is nice but not one of their best properties. This hotel is nice but average. The service is excellent the rooms are pretty standard. The restaurant downstairs is pretty pricey and there is no gym on the property. The tell you to go to the YMCA across the street and down a block. I don't think that is very good for a hotel chain like the Marriott to ask... more

We booked stay on priceline for $51 a night, so quite a deal. But rooms were old as were bathrooms. New beds and TV. They said redoing in a few months. Parking was across the street.
