We went into this knowing there would be no showers (yes, I know it was gross, but at $16/night, you can't expect that much!)

The location was fantastic, and quick ride to everything we wanted to see.

However, having the water not work in the bathrooms and leaving us without a place to go at all was unacceptable.

When the water worked, the place was fine. I wish the campsites were a little more private, however.

The camp has a amphitheater (group campfire area). At the amphitheater you can hear stories and music run by the park. The campground is just before the Linville Falls Visitor Center. I highly recommend if you are physically fit try the Plunge Basin trail to the left of the falls visitor center marked by yellow arrows. It is a very strenuous trail but worth the hike. It takes you to the bottom of the larger fall. Watch out for snakes. Fishing is allowed. Bring a picnic to the bottom of the falls and enjoy. Be careful on your way back. First timers may miss the turn... more
