Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I am a Hilton fan. I travel a lot and Hilton is consistently above par…except this one. Garden Inn is mid-range in the Hilton family and offers a bar area that serves breakfast and dinner. Of course, they have to have people to do this and the entire time we were there, even though they told us it would open for dinner, it never did. The room was a bit worn and the bathroom had a shower curtain that literally only covered half of the shower - so water water everywhere. I like to work out in the mornings but even though they had a bench, there were no weights to be found or a rack for that matter. I swim but the indoor pool was closed. All in all, a bad experience. I am returning in a few days so will stay at the Hampton because at least I will get what I pay for.

This was the first stop on our vacation it was great. We stayed here and left our car behind. The location was awesome and very convenient. The front desk and the shuttle drivers were outstanding and helpful. The room was great.

As a gold member, I’m proud of my Hilton loyalty. This has, by far, been the worst Hilton I ever stayed at. There was vomit at the entrance, the hotel is rundown and the room is old looking. Hilton, you don’t want this hotel representing your brand!! I don’t know how to get out of my reservation and go somewhere else. Very upset!

When we checked in, we were given a key card for the wrong room. We tried to use the key card and it (thankfully) didn't work. We heard people talking inside of the room and looked at the app and it had a different room number listed. We tried our key cards at that room, and they didn't work there either, so we toted all of our luggage back down to the lobby where there was now a line. After waiting in line, they straightened out the issue and got us key cards for the correct room. Once inside, we found that there was no soap in the bathroom, the lamp had no light bulb, and one of the desk chair arms was completely missing. There was also trail mix all over the floor and it had obviously not been vacuumed. After calling down to the front desk, they told us maintenance would be in at 4:00 to replace our light bulb and chair arm. We had to go down to the lobby (again!) to get soap. We didn't want to leave and have maintenance combing through our things, so we decided to wait the half hour until 4:00. By 4:30, no one had arrived. We called back down to the desk and we were told the maintenance person hadn't arrived yet. After another 45 minutes of waiting, the front desk staff came up and brought us a chair and a light bulb from a nearby room to replace ours. On the second night of our stay, we went down to wash a coat in the hotel's laundry facility and there was a sign saying that detergent was available in a cabinet. There was no detergent. The entire time we were there it was super difficult to find a parking place because they let cars stay there when people fly out from the nearby airport, with only a handful of spaces left (around the back) for actual current guests. Some of the remaining spots were filled with broken glass. After checking out, the normal charge that hotels make to your credit card for incidentals was apparently, unlike every other hotel chain in the planet, not just a pending charge that would drop off. No big deal, if it's refunded, right? I got an email receipt saying that the charge was refunded. I waited three days and the charge has not dropped off, but has instead posted to my account. I called Hilton and they promised me that 5-7 days after the original charge (which was on the last day of my stay) was posted, it would be removed. After 7 days, it's still on there. So, after a very annoying stay, I get to fight with Hilton over $25 that they keep promising me has been refunded.

We were a bit anxious on checking in. The person ahead of us was switching rooms - for the third time- because of uncleanliness. Our room was fine, though. We paid the $10/pm for four nights of parking. The person who took us to the airport was prompt and pleasant. Roc, who brought us back was the same. We will use again when we need to fly out of RDU.

Monica, Ryan, tory, was awesome! Great attitudes. This hotel shuttle was the best part of this stay. Anything within 5 miles they went out of their way (above and beyond) to take you or make it right. Definitely exceeding expectations. These three drivers were awesome. Front desk will need some customer service work. And all u can eat buffet was pretty expensive with not much high end items. Ill definitely stay here again. 5 star was for my drivers. Never had this in my lifetime. Great job guys.

I actually stay at this hotel frequently when I have an early flight. It’s literally mins from the airport. It also offers park and fly shuttle service which I utilize. Just left and had the best driver Roc. He was kind and courteous. Pulled us right up the Delta counter and helped us with our bags!

Positives: * Location very close to RDU Airport * Free shuttle to and from the hotel and airport * Friendly and helpful shuttle drivers * Friendly and helpful cleaning staff Negatives: * Needs a thorough cleaning and refurbishing * Main intake vent in the front lobby - dirty (just look up and you'll see it) * Swimming pool looked in need of maintenance * The carpets in the elevators, hallways, and guest rooms need to be changed. They are stained and give off odors of pool chlorine and other unknown sources and substances. * Water damage to baseboards and door bottoms. * Breakfast is not complimentary, which means you will pay for subpar food, * Shuttle van sliding door is damaged and needs repair. * Front desk staff not friendly - on the verge of unprofessional. * Worn out towels. Folks, this particular hotel should not have the "Hilton" moniker as it is right now. Cleaning, repair and remodeling are absolutely needed.

DO NOT USE THE PARK AND FLY. 10 bucks per day, BUT you wait 20+ minutes for a ride to you car in a dirty beat up shuttle. The hotel is ONLY 5 minutes away. Sometimes the shuttle doesn't come at all, and you have to pay 20 bucks for a taxi or Uber to get to your vehicle. Terrible service and rude night audit/shuttle staff.

The convenience to the airport is really the only thing this hotel has going for it. The whole hotel smelled musty and like and old smokers lounge. Even the rooms and pillows smelled musty and old. Also when we arrived their system booking system was down so the employees were obviously frazzled and having a hard time, so I feel for how difficult of a night they had. However I booked two seats on the shuttle at 4:15 because the 4:00am was full. I watched the employee write down the time and confirm it to me. The next morning when we showed up for our 4:15 shuttle, the same employee informed me that the 4:15 was full and we were on the 4:30 which she “confirmed” on paper. That would have made us miss our flight, and there were others that were also mysteriously not on the shuttle times they booked just waiting. We ended up taking an expensive Uber the 1.5 miles to the airport. All in all the hotel is just mediocre. It’s a fine stay for being close, but wasn’t anything special and we weren’t really impressed. I hate that the employees were so frazzled, but also they weren’t really very apologetic about the mistake either.
