We stayed at the Inn the night of the Marine Corps Ball in lieu of the stuffiness of a 'hotel'. I spent many weeks writing with Betty (the proprietor of the inn) as the festivities were a surprise for my husbands 40th birthday. She truly helped me to pull off a magnificent evening while keeping my husband 'in the dark'. His best friend, my sister, and her husband all enjoyed the Inn immensely. They stayed in 'Grannys Attic' while my husband and I stayed in the romantic Josephine Suite. The beds were so comfortable it was difficult to awake the next morning. Breakfast was quite delicious and a wonderful way to start our day! We were able to spend some quality time with Betty and John making us feel like an extended 'family'. This is my 2nd stay at a Bed and Breakfast in New Bern, and I have learned this will be my ONLY B&B in town from now on.
