We loved the Anchorage Inn. All the employees were so friendly. The view from our second floor room was awesome. The price was great! Within walking distance to a lot of places. Continental breakfast was good. This was a very quiet place for us, even with all the bicyclists that were there.....we heard no noise from the outside. We would... more

This was our third or fourth trip to the Anchorage Inn so we knew what to expect. It's defintely a no-frills motel, but it's clean and the staff is friendly to both us and our dog. The furniture could use a little updating and the beds were a little small, but we like it because the view is wonderful and... more

We stayed for several days at the Anchorage Inn with our pet. We had a great stay. The only suggestion I have is to further enforce the pick up after your pet policy. Other than that the room was clean and the location was wonderful. The staff was helpful and friendly. more

We stayed on September 21st, a Monday night in the off season, and paid $109 which was the best rate they gave us. Upon checking in, the owner was short and a bit rude. Upon arrival to room, we were greeted with a old moldy hotel room smell. We tried to open the windows but guess what, they were completly... more

We have never stayed at the Anchorage before but this trip we needed dog friendly hotel. Anchorage was fairly priced and was extremely clean (being a pet room, we were happy to smell the obvious bleach!) The room was on the smaller side and the furnishings could really use some updating. The little breakfast offerings were perfect for our kids... more

From the shared balcony of our third floor room, there were amazing views across the harbor, including the Ocracoke Lighthouse. The location was very convenient to most things in the village. The room was no frills: very small for a double; definitely in need of an update; but clean. Considering the view, the price (with AAA discount) seemed reasonable compared... more

The Anchorage has a great view from the balconies of the harbor and big sailboats docked right across the street where Austin Boat Tours is also. If you don't mind the drunks from the bar across the street stumbling in late at night and you are the heavy duty party type that's fine too I guess. But for being one... more

The location was great and we really enjoyed listening to the music right across the street on Saturday night. There is no private balcony and the furniture in the room was old, although everything was clean. The pool seemed to attract groups of drinkers, rather than children or those who wanted to exercise. Overall, an okay value, although very basic. more

The Inn is right on the harbor (Silver Lake) .We had the top floor suite and had a terrific view over 180 degrees of the Lake ,town ,ferry landing and the Sound beyond .On one clear day we could even see Portsmouth Island ,and could make out the buildings in Portsmouth Village. It had a private balcony ,and windows in... more

We were planning a last minute getaway, and The Achorage Hotel was the only place on the island that had an available room. The staff was friendly, and it was nice to see that they do allow pets on the 1st floor. Our room was on the 4th floor, had a king size bed, and was clean. The fixtures were... more
