I loved the experience of staying in this historic inn! There is so much character and history in the building and the owners are so friendly! We really enjoyed the central location. We could walk to the marina and many stores and restaurants. It is a drive to the beach but every place on Ocracoke is for the most part.... More

We found the Inn on line. We read some of the good / and some unfair reviews about the inn ... needless to say it has to be one of the most unique Inns we have ever stayed in. We have traveled all the world and have always traveled to OBX since we both were toddlers... but we always stayed... More

What a wonderful find the Island Inn is. If you love the Shabby Chic style, then you'll definitely love this place. A turn of the Century, clapboard building with quaint rooms elevated its charm enormously. The owners are lovely people and we thought it was extremely good value for money. We enjoyed our evenings on the communal balcony, relaxing in... More

I made a road trip in Est Usa for one month, and that was one of the best experience we had ... Outer banks are wonderfull, and this hotel was one of the cuttest, and the cheapest ! The people working in Island Inn were incredibly nice and friendly... We had problem with our car, they were here to help...and... More

A Found Treasure On a spontaneous trip to Ocracoke Island NC for the day, my wife and I stumbled on an unexpected wonderful three day stay at The Island Inn & Island Inn Villas. The Island Inn is not your postages stamp chain motel found all across America under corporal ownership. No it’s a breath of fresh air, locally owned... More

What a great place! The Ocracoke Island Inn exudes warmth and southern charm - it's old-school lodge-type accommodations, where no two rooms are alike. Your hosts Mary-Chandler, Thomas and Cee, are very personable and welcoming. They made us feel so at home. The Inn has had a recent renovation and upgrade. The beautifully painted rooms are spacious and well furnished... More

We have been staying at the Island Inn for years. We usually stay in the original, old inn building because of it's history, character, atmosphere, and stories. The owners are very personable and accommodating. The rooms have always been neat and clean. The most important part to us is that we always feel relaxed there and come away with wonderful... More

My husband and I were married on Ocracoke Island in 2004. We came back this year to celebrate our eight year anniversary and stayed at the Island Inn. We absolutely love this place! The rooms are neat and clean. The owners are so personable and friendly! We stayed in room 23 which is called the crows nest. We loved this... More

My girlfriends and I had a wonderful trip recently to Ocracoke and the accommodations were a big part of the trip. We stayed at a villa at the Island Inn and were very pleased with the accomodations. We had spacious, clean rooms with all linens provided, a large living room, washer and dryer, spacioand kitchen, and a large clean pool... More

If you are looking for a spotless, clean, sanitary hotel with working toilets and air conditioning The Island Inn (old part) is probably not for you. My husband loved it and was not bothered as I was.... I did not like that the toilet ran over, the AC didn't cool, the key didn't work in the door and the screen... More
