The hotel is convieniently located to NC State Univ. but the rooms are dated and good luck if you need to talk to anybody about a problem.t more

Management response from
Brian Brooks, Manager

I felt the need to reply to the service issue this guest brought up, because I truly do not feel it is an accurate depiction of what guests can expect at our property. In fact, each month, all of the Priority Club members that have stayed with us are sent a survey regarding our property and the guest service they...

This hotel near NC State University is a bit dated. It's layout is odd, with the lobby in a front building and the rooms in a rear building. The elevator is cramped and slow. The rooms are smallish, but not uncomfortable. They advertise Tempur-Pedic beds in their rooms, but be aware that if you try this hotel for this reason,... more

The Brownstone is located about 1 mile from downtown and is in the vicinity of the University and a diverse collection of restaurants, including Cameron Village. . This hotel is accessible to the Interstate, the airport and the Amtrak station (one-way cab about $6.25) - and the No. 4 bus goes past the door. Convenient, indeed! It is well maintained... more

We "won" this hotel on Priceline at 8:00 at night, for that same night. (thanks to our water heater busting), for just $31. (The lowest price on the hotel's website for the same night was $129). Since we live in this area, we knew the Brownstone is old. Very old. So our expectations were for an old Holiday Inn 3-star.... more

We stayed at this hotel so that my daughter could attend an event at NC State. You really cannot beat the location for proximity and convenience to the campus. That's pretty much where the pros to this place end. From the time you walk in off the street, it's pretty obvious that this place is kind of a dump. It... more

Stayed here on business after a bad experience at the Holiday Inn in the Glenwood St/Capital Blvd area. I really enjoyed my stay here. I was able to walk to restaurants and bars at night, the staff were super-friendly, I think all the rooms have tempur-pedic mattresses(mine did), which were awesome. I also had a really nice view of the... more

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Brownstone for one night before a day full of meetings. I guess the selling point of this hotel is that it's sort of a traditional place to stay for people who are visiting NC State (it was recommended to me by the people I was meeting). It is convenient to campus, but I wasn't... more

The hotel is a little old looking, but beyond that nothing terrible. The room was not 'up to date', but was comfortable, the service was good. Really no complaints, and it's in a good area with plenty of bars and restaurants just a short hop. The Players' Retreat 1 block away is highly recommended if you like single malts. This... more

Hotel is old; I am a Priority Club member, so stayed in their 'best', while here for a meeting. Room was dark and dingy; carpet, though not worn, appeared to need a good cleaning. Bathroom had granite countertop, but, oddly, the kind of commode / toilet that is found in a public bathroom (handle for flushing was the kind I... more

I booked this hotel because of its proximity to the NC State Campus, where I was attending an event. The Temperapedic mattresses were great, and the rooms were adequate, but the hotel seemed to be filled with noisy teenagers. It was well after 1am until the corridors quieted down. I also had to go to 3 different floors to find... more
