This hostel was easy to get to from the bus station. It cost my friends and I 480RMB (extra 100RMB deposit) for two nights (total 4 people). When I arrived, the room was very damp from the shower because the vent in the bathroom does not work. I needed to change the sheets as soon as I was there. The... More

We're not complaining about hard mattresses, long waits for hot water or bed linens not being changed daily. It's a hostel, it's China and we know what to expect. Nevertheless, when we stayed in a twin room at Kaifeng International Youth Hostel, it failed to please us in many ways! The place is rather dirty, starting from the yard which... More

This is the only hostel in Kaifeng, so a little more pricey than others in China, but we werent dissapointed!! Ryan and his stall are all fantastic and really made us feel at home. Its hard to find anything to complain about... but a hot shower would have made this place even better!

The main advantage is that it's cheap - though it should be cheaper; the much nicer Yijia hostel in Luoyang is 25% cheaper. The entire place gives the impression that the Australian owner opened it not out of an interest in travelers or traveling but because he needed a job and it seemed easy, so everything seems to be about... This is a centrally located (only about a ten to fifteen minute walk from the west bus station) and inexpensive hostel. The rooms were clean, but basic. The staff was friendly and most spoke good English. It is definitely not a four-star hotel, but the price is great, and it is a good place to meet other travelers. The Gulou... More

We stayed in a dorm without window, with disgusting bathrooms (we could not even flush the toilets!). The water took at least 5 long minutes to heat up. Most of the staff could hardly speak english and were of very little help when we asked for travel advice (they handed us a photocopy of the Lonely Planet). I don't recommend... More

Australian owner Ryan and his Chinese girlfriend Jen make you feel at home away from home in their brand new hostel. Right near the scenic Baogong Lake and the bustling local Hui nightmarket - where you can eat almost anything - and in walking or cycling distance of all the major historic sites, this hostel provides you with the best...
