A Darwin resident we proudly set off to show some of our 'southern friends' the beauty of Litchfield Park. In finding somewhere to stay I scoured the web and found a fully self contained house called Litchfield House which is on the site of this van park. Booking it was pretty much where the trouble started...
When booking we were told the accommodation was $130 for two couples - when we got there they said $190
We were told there were two airconditioned rooms with queen size beds - there was on airconditioned double and one room with three single stretcher beds in it and non functioning aircon (with complimentary spiders in the bed)
It was suppose to be fully self contained - the fridge was so filthy we chose to keep our food in the esky. The saucepans were ingrained with mould and non of the dishes were clean (most had bugs, roaches and leaves on them!) The shower was horrendous.

On the 2nd March 2007 we were unfortunate to suffer a major flood to the property. This occurred within one hour and has never ever happened in history. The house has never ever been rented for $130 and if there is ever a problem with the price quoted and it is different on the web site or in any marketing...
