Clean, long and narrow self contained rooms, with you average in-room facilities. Nice bathrooms. more

We stayed overnight on the road between the Whitsundays and Brisbane. There was parking outside the room and the essential facilities were all there if they were a bit utilitarian. But that's beside the point - its a place to stay when you are on the road in the middle of a long trip and is affordable. Don't expect too... more

We stayed in a studio apartment for 2 nights and although spacious the room was tired looking and in need of redecorating. Not great value for money, other places in similar price range in much better condition. Restaurant downstairs has the best pizza we've every tasted... that was the hightlight of our stay!! more

Stayed in a motel room for one night on a 2 week Queensland holiday. The main issue is the noise from other rooms. The walls are very thin and everything can be heard from the adjoining rooms. Very difficult to get a decent sleep. The other big issue was the smell of the room. The smell of smoking which was... more

Sandcastles, Agnes Water, Queensland We tuned up at Sandcastles unannounced and to be fair I was not expecting much. In a few months traveling around Australia with my family we had stayed mainly in Motels and 90% of them had been either very basic and overpriced or overpriced and very basic. So Sandcastles was a major surprise for us, as... more

We stayed in the motel portion of the establishment. We reserved a package which included our room and a specific reef tour. The receptionist was confused about which package we reserved. I brought copies of my confirmation. We were told that our reef tour was cancelled, and they had booked a tour to a different reef without contacting me. Unfortunately,... more

We stayed in a 3-bedroom apartment section for two nights. The apartments had lots of space, opening out onto a large balcony and dining areas. Great kitchen, fully stocked with utensils. The design looked very modern - and had excessive use of wooden louvers. Walking between the second and third bedrooms into the main lounge area requires going through a... more

We stayed at Sandcastles 1770 for one night in a studio. The studio was very spacious and even included a laundry machine and a dryer. It was very quiet at night. more

The hotel wasnt particularly good value for money. I was worried about security as the front door did not lock and neither did our room as there was a problem with it. I thought it was basically OK but nothing special and certainly not worthy of the rave review in lonely planet. On the upside the pizza purchased from downstairs... more

We stumbled across this motel when it was dark pouring with rain and we just needed a bed for the night, didn't have a clue what it would be like and were a bit dubious, however we rang the bell and the manager or owner got out of the bath to come and help us! Within 5 minutes we were... more
