The Abode was exactly what we needed after driving from Adelaide to Melbourne and then back from Melbourne within a week with young children. We were extremely happy with the quality of service, the owner was so understanding and very helpful. He was like our own personal tourist guide. The space in the room was fantastic. We had a very... Arriving late afternoon early evening we found this motel as a last resort. We should have driven another 20 or so Kim's. the motel is old looking and being tired we did not check the room out. A phone outside of the reception with a notice to press the red button was not much use if you are couloir blind... More

Mum and I returned to Bordertown for a family event. Ken, our Host, was friendly and looked after us very well. We enjoyed chatting about the town and people we knew. It was a very comfortable sleep. I reckon I'll be back on my next stay in Bordertown.

There is one positive about this motel, it's quiet. Ken, the owner is very friendly, a bit too friendly after a long drive and all you want to do is rest, but all he wants to do is chat, and chat, and chat... Mostly about the grisly demise of former pets worryingly! The rooms are terrible. One star at the... More

My friend and I stayed at the motel on Saturday 22nd September 2012. The motel is was very comfortable and clean and suited our needs, we had a room with toaster/microwave facilities which was great. Ken, our host was so helpful and gave us excellent information about places to eat. Any query was answered with a smile. The motel isn't... More

Always enjoy my stay at the Abode as it is off the noisy highway and close by to the local hotels and places of interest. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the host Ken always makes you welcome......if you are expecting the Hilton , then don't stop and keep driving to Melbourne !

On our family holiday we popped into the Abode Parkland Motel for a couple nights stay, the host was very helpful and welcoming - also gave us great advice on where to eat and where the attractions were. The parkland across the road was a perfect location for where our children could kick the footy and play with the dog,... More

One of us started the check-in procedure with the cheery and chatty host, but as it took quite a while, the other finished - neither would have willingly paid $139 to stay there. Our quite large room with queen bed was marred by an airconditioner with "a mind of its own" (his description) and a little heater that didn't want... More
