We had booked a room in the main building for two nights following a recommendation of a friend who stayed there in 2005. Unfortunately it turned out that this 'luxury accommodation' was anything but luxurious. The room was small, not very clean and above the pub we were exposed to all the noise from there. Saturday night for us was a night where we were not able to sleep at all because the pub activities continued after closing hours just in front of our window. In addition we had to share toilet and bathroom with all the other rooms on this floor, which I have never seen in a 'luxury' accommodation before. The breakfast was the lousiest we ever had during our stay in Australia.
It may have been a mistake to book an ordinary room and it may have been a different experience with a cottage, however, after this one night we had to said good bye to the place, although we had already paid for two nights. On departure I mentioned that the place didn't really offer what we expected...
