We have just spent what was supposed to be a romatic long weekend away in Bright. Bright is a beautiful location in the Victorian high country. Unfortunately we were very disappointed with our accomodation. This property charges a premium rate and claims to be the finest accommodation in Bright. In reality we found that the mews apartments were stuffy and anything but private. The windows look onto the back yard of the main house where other guests the owners frequently walk by. You can only have privacy if you draw all the drapes which of course keeps the apartments very dark. All romance is certainly lost when you hear guests staying the the attic aparment walking around. Even the most lightfooted person would sound like an elephant tramping on the floors above. The owner made mention that he asks the guests to tread lightly when staying in the attic apartment and that we may hear some movement - what an understatement - you could hear the television from the apartment above even... more
