The hotel lobby looked ok. We checked in and the girl at the front desk informed us that the laundry facilities were broken, she couldn't recommend a restuarant as she didn't eat anywhere and we should just go to our room and then try to find a laundromat. We drove around to the back of the hotel and opened the... more

Upon entering the lobby, this appeared to be a 5 star hotel! It had beautiful furniture, coffee ready to go, and a great continental breakfast offered. The staff was less than helpful. I asked where a local movie theater was and they told me to look in the phone book in my room. I had to wait and ask directions... more

We just spent 3 days at this motel. Our room had 2 double beds, 1 bar of soap, 1 shampoo, 3 bath towels, 3 wash clothes (one of which had hair inbeded in it), 1 bath mate (with ware holes the size of my thumb nail). When we asked for more shampoo and towels they looked at us as if... more

We just got back from a trip down south and stayed at this Econo Lodge. Upon entering the room, you could immediately smell the mildew in the air. In addition, the caulk in the bathroom was falling off and was covered in black mold! The bottom of the shower curtain was covered in black mold as well. The bed felt... more

I stayed in the hotel with some friends on our way down to Georgia, we rented three rooms, and two of my friends got locked in one of the rooms, the door handle fell off on the inside, and none of the keys for that room would work in the door. We called the front desk and informed them that... more

The Econo Lodge in Statesville has to be the most disgusting motel I've every stayed in. The bathtub had so much mold that I felt dirty after taking a shower! There was so much rift-raft living and staying at this motel I didn't feel safe. The TV didn't work. The carpets were nasty and it looked like snot was smeared... more

We have stayed at this hotel for well over 8 years as we have relatives who moved into the area. This was the first time we have stayed here since the change to Econo Lodge. The breakfast really was poor - absolutely no fruit; only bagels, some very blah cereal and a bad selection of donuts. As for the service,... more

The outlets had shortages, cable box hanging out of wall, bath tub appeared to have a repair strip in the middle but when you got in it sunk and black water came on your feet! Manager would never return phone calls-nor would the 1-800 number help me -I refused to sign bill and they posted my account anyway- more

This place was unclean. The floor in my room was damp, the room itself smelled vaguely of mold, and the bathroom had peeling wallpaper. The staff were nice, and explained that they are renovating, but it really is in bad shape. Basically, the place is a converted old-style motor in with rooms facing the parking lot and a 'courtyard,' and... more
