High Level bills itself as the "Las Vegas of the North", largely on the basis of being the landing place for a few discarded electric hotel signs from the "Las Vegas of the South." These are attached to a group of establishments arrayed along the Alberta Highway 35 frontage road.

Though it isn't "blessed" with one of the flashy signs, the Best Canadian Motor Inn is located on "motel row" with all the others, and is a welcome sight after driving through the empty quarters that surround the town in all directions. Though the rooms here are small compared to most chain accommodations, they are clean and comfortable. There is a hearty continental breakfast, served in the spacious (with a cozy fireplace) lobby.
