Situated adjacent to the Ainsworth Hot Springs, this quaint, clean, very comfortable motel offered a very reasonably priced alternative to the expensive hotel next door. The room we stayed in had satelite TV, coffee maker, twin double beds, and a pull out sofa. The hotel is older, but clean and comfortable, with a small balcony overlooking the beautiful Kootenay Lake.... more

Me, my boyfriend, and my mother all took a trip together to ainsworth for my auntie's wedding. When we arrived at the mermaid it was not quite what we expected it to be but with family and friends around us the experience became memorable and by the end we didnt want to leave. We stayed in room number 8. It... more

This is the last place we would ever go to for a nice stay. I have never before been in a motel where you have to do your own dish washing. On the second morning of our stay we had no coffee in our kitchen unit. I guess I should have read all the little notes posted on the walls.... more

I wish I had read all the other reviews before booking at the Mermaid. Our experience was very similar to many other reviews! The "Lady" at the office put on a brave face and told us about all the free stuff there, like towels for the Hot Springs at no extra charge, free BBQ use and Hot Tub use, blah... more

We took a trip to Ainsworth this past week and were thoroughly disappointed. It is not half as nice as it looks online. It is a podunk dirt road with about ten dilapidated homes in the whole town. Especially do not stay at the Mermaid hotel if you go-it was horrible! It honestly was scary to stay there because it... more

We booked this motel over the internet. When we got into the room, we were extremely disappointed with the worn carpet, frayed bedding, dated furnishings, cheap bathroom and an odor . It did not look like this on the website although it was the same room (but a small picture). We also needed 3 beds for adults. The room included... more

My wife & I pre-planned an overnight stay at the Mermaid after studying Tripadvisor reviews for the area as part of our tour of the Canadian Rockies. We were not disappointed. We had a cabin room with kitchenette but only used the facilities for making hot drinks. Site staff were extremely pleasant and accommodation was clean throughout. Not much room... more

The Mermaid Lodge is right next door to the Hot Springs - very convenient. I stayed with my 3 teenage boys in one of the kitchenette suites which was perfect - I had my own room so a bit of peace and quiet, while they had plenty of room to spread out in the sitting/dining areas. The furnishings aren't new... more

We stayed at the Mermaid Lodge for one night, while in Kaslo for our daughters hockey tournament. Had read the reviews on this website, so were not quite sure what to expect. We had unit #3, a one bedroom kitchenette which had two hide-a-beds in the living room. The unit was very clean and had a nice deck with a... more
