We stayed at the Dunlop Inn this past weekend for one night, as we passed through Baddeck. Although the town seemed to be shut down for the season, it was still beautiful. The Inn has been restored and is more comfortable than any other Inn we've stayed at. The rooms are decorated nicely and the sunroom (with view of the... more

This place is a real find. We had spent 2 weeks touring NS with good lodgings and Dunlop house did not disappoint. Breakfast was self serve (as advertised) and although choice was limited, quantity was not. We stayed in the Lighthouse room which had brilliant views over the Island and Harbour. Views from the porch are stunning and we enjoyed... more

I had the place to myself as I was travelling pre-season. I had a lovely room right on the water (Lighthouse Room) with excellent WIFI and comfortable bed. It was quiet but I imagine that with a house full of guests and all the hardwood floors it might not be, as this is an historic building. However, the amenities (and... more

Staying at the Dunlop Inn was like visiting a friend's house. Picture when you arrive, a note from your friend tells you that they went away for a week and make yourself at home........on a lake.....in a beautiful Victorian House. WOW! Oh...and did I mention that someone comes in twice a day to clean and set up breakfast. Innkeepers can... more

Four of us spent the night at the Dunlop Inn on August 24. We all enjoyed the beautiful view and the ability to drink our wine in the evening and our coffee in the morning out on the deck. The hotel was conveniently located. Although it's a pain to have to drive to the sister hotel to pick up and... more

We enjoyed the Dunlop Inn; the beds were quite comfy and the location was terrific. As others have declared, you can't beat the deck overlooking the lake and it was lovely to have access to coffee early in the morning (first person up pushes the already set up coffee maker) It was almost like staying in Grandma's house. And speaking... more

Dunlop Inn felt like staying at a friend's cottage rather than a commercial establishment. Aside from the wonderful Chris getting coffee and breakfast ready in the morning (a very simple continental breakfast), you'll only see fellow guests around the house. All administration is handled at the Telegraph Inn up the hill. My favourite part of our stay was the small... more

What a great stay! The location was Formidable, sitting on the dock in colorful chairs , watching the boats and beautiful Cape Breton landscape. The peaceful surroundings, walking distance to everything in this quaint town, the great deck in the sun or the sunroom in the rain - this inn offered the perfect spot to stop and enjoy CB. Wireless... more

We recently stayed at the Dunlop Inn for 3 nights. It is so convenient to everything on Cape Breton that you can use this inn for several nights and visit a different place every day. Several good restaurants, shops, and the Alexander Graham Bell Museum are within walking distance. It is also next to the city pier and that is... more

Although tastelfully decorated and a comfortable Inn - the best part of this find was the dock! Whether having your morning coffee or sipping an evening's glass of wine - it can't be enjoyed more than sitting in one of those colorful adirondack chairs on the dock overlooking the white and red lighthouse across the water. Sitting there watching sailboats... more
