My fiance and I stayed at the Old Lantern Inn for two nights in June during a two week vacation on the east coast and just days after he proposed. The Old Lantern was amazing. We had never stayed at B&Bs before this trip but we stayed at the Queen Anne in Annapolis Royal and the Old Lantern and loved... More

This is exactly what my wife and I needed! We stayed 2 nights in the Marechal Foch room and ... just ... relaxed... The bed was comfortable, breakfast was great, and the roaring wood stove made the whole inn ever so warm and cozy while the wind howled outside... We recomend this to everyone and we will be back! This B & B is next door to the Domaine de Grand Pre vinyards and winery, which includes Le Caveau, a fine Restaurant. The B & B fronts part of the vinyard, so one walks from the B & B through the vinyard to the winery and restaurant. This property is also well located for exploring the region. The rooms... More

I surprised my husband with an overnight getaway to The Olde Lantern Inn and dinner at the neighboring Le Caveau Restaurant. It was a "Wow" experience all the way! The Inn is charming and comfortable. We stayed in an upper floor room which had views of the winery and the bay. The room was a good size with post &... More

The room was just as the website described it - the bathroom was great - the ambience with the candle lit walk to Grand Pre was so beautiful. If you want breakfast - it is served early 7:30 - 8:30 and be on time! More

We stayed in the Vineyard room in this beautifully situated inn, adjacent to Grand Pre Vineyard. It had a candle lit walk through the vines to the vineyard, very atmospheric after dinner, especially as there was a bonfire to sit around outside the inn. We had a large, air conditioned room with comfy bed and good seating (two easy chairs,... More

My wife and I just returned from an 11 day tour of Nova Scotia that included a 2 night stay in the Olde Lantern Inn in Grand Pre. To say that the B&B exceeded our expectations would be an understatement. The owner, Alan, had an easy way of interacting with his guests and allowed us as much space or contact... More

Easy drive from Halifax airport - about an hour. We arrived in the evening and just had to walk across the vineyard for dinner at L'Caveau restaurant at Domaine de Grand Pre winery. Al, the host, had lit lanterns along the path and it was very romantic walking back under the moon and stars. We stayed in the Cellar Room... More

We spend our wedding anniversary at the Old Lantern Inn and found the entire experience very charming. The Cape Cod style Inn has only 4 rooms and still it was very private; we never saw the other guests until breakfast. There was much attention spent on detail in the rooms; fine linens, great beds, antique furniture and a great selection... More

This is the perfect place to stay. There is a spacious common room, a kitchen available fora cup of tea. and the rooms are lovely. Al has provided a comfy destination for travellers. one that considers the needs of the customers rather than the interests of the proprietor. The inn's proximity to a lovely restaurant in the nearby winery is a...
