We drove out to Liscombe from Halifax for a romantic weekend getaway and really enjoyed ourselves. The setting is beautiful and the facilities were clean and very well maintained. The bed was very comfortable. There was no mini-fridge in the room, but upon request the management was happy to have one installed for our wine/beer/fruit etc. While some may complain... more

My husband and I stayed here in September 2008 for one night. The setting is lovely and we had a cabin (they can call them chalets if they want) right on the river. The cabin was small, but clean and serviceable, although the bed was one of the tiniest queens I have ever seen. The real problem here is the... more

We booked our two night stay several months ago, and expected the amenities apparent on their web-site. Not so at all. Whilst the room was OK we were told at check in that the restaurant was closing at 7pm rather than the advertised 9. As a photographer that gives me the choice of being out there photographing sunset or eating... more

We honeymooned in Nova Scotia 30 years ago and thought we'd return for a second honeymoon. Liscombe Lodge setting is breathtaking and right on the river in a very remote area east of Halifax. That's the only compliment we can offer. The rooms are not maintained (not even hair dryers), had the worst TV on the planet and the biggest... more

We stayed in a cabin - four self contained units with a communal lounge. All facilities in rooms as well as the bonus of a lounge for families/groups in which to meet up. Great woodland trails. Superb planked salmon. more

Liscombe Lodge is set in a peaceful and beautiful area. In the Lodge we had a room overlooking the Liscombe river. It was quiet and beautiful to sit on the deck and look at. There are many trees and birds and the property is well maintained. The room was dated but very large. The bathroom is very small and when... more

We stayed one night at Liscombe Lodge. Our room was large, but the furniture and general decor was rather tired and in need of renovation. During the night we could clearly hear the people in the next room talking, coughing, moving around and using the bathroom. Though clean, our bathroom was also rather tired and the hairdryer was broken. We... more

Happened on the lodge will driving and looking for a place to stop for the night. Chalets as well as hotel style rooms available. Property is located on the banks of the liscomb river, with a hiking trail boat , bikes , tennis and pool available. The setting was incredible, the rooms immaculate and the dinning room with it's view... more

Absolutely loved this hotel. We stayed in a lodge room which was very very spacious and had all facilities except a fridge which would have been nice. If I was being ultra critical, I would say that the rooms are in need of refurbishment. Whilst being clean. they look a bit on the 'tired' side but that did not detract... more

We stayed last night at Liscombe lodge having driven a long distance during the day (we drove from Baddeck on Cape Breton to Louisbourg fortress). The dinner at the lodge dining room was delicious and the service was extremely attentive. We had a very comfortable room with two double beds and pullout couch which fit two adults and two teens... more
