I stayed in half a boxcar and that was a hoot - comfortable, but like railway cars the world over, it required efficient use of space. It's compact but it worked. I arrived a little late but they accommodated me at the dining car (thank-you!) with a great stew and brew - perfect to end a long evening. Next morning,... more

We were in Caboose no.4 for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It has a certain faded glory but this all adds to the atmosphere. The accomodation was clean and comfortable. The staff were amazed that our 6ft 3inches tall son fitted on the bunk beds, but he was fine! We had no problems but felt if we did,... more

We stayed at the Train Station Inn for one night and wished we could have stayed there longer. The rooms are in refurbished cabooses or box cars, complete with a private bathroom and living room area. Everything you could possibly need was there, including a mini-fridge, coffee-maker and blow dryer. We ate dinner in the dining car and the food... more

What a disappointment this place was. I expected something without a lot of frills but I got much less than I expected. The nightly rate of $140 is excessive for a train car. The bed is not comfortable, the shower is like a black hole with very poor lighting in a tiny bathroom. The sheets had old stains on them... more

I am very sorry you did not have an enjoyable experience at The Train Station Inn. After 20 years in the business sometimes things slip by us and without guests like yourselves bringing them to our attention we would not have the opportunity to revisit our practices that made us so popular in the beginning. We have recently created a...

We stayed at the Train Station Inn on August 30th. At the time of booking it seemed like a good idea. My girls (ages 12 & 16) thought it would be fun to sleep in the bunk bed style berth. Our first impression was that it was cute. But sleeping was a probem. My oldest was on the top bunk... more

My wife and I were passing through Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia and we were looking in the Nova Scotia Doer's and Dreamers 2007 guide and we saw the Train station Inn listed. We almost skipped it thinking it was not worth the stop and we were going to keep on driving. But we changed our mind and did a u-turn and... more

If you are looking to create memories through travel, a stay at the Train Station Inn is a memorable experience. My son and I stay a night at the Train Station Inn, booking a caboose which had good sized bedroom, full bathroom and a sitting room with a double bunk. The owner of the inn was a very gracious host.... more

Fascinating place, really well done by jimmy and shelly. Nice meal at breakfast and in dining car, but menu di not change when we went a 2nd night. Our caboose was only partially serviced, not sure why, towels changed, but only one out of 3 beds made? Coffee making faciliites not cleaned daily either. New crisp white bed linen would... more
