We know this area having stayed several times at Manoir Hovey and also at Auberge Hatley (which sadly burned) and were really looking forward to our stay at Ripplecove. I must admit to some misgivings before the trip when I noticed that the photos of the rooms looked tired and somewhat motel-ish but decided to overlook these concerns in lieu... more

This really perfectly situated hotel (by the lake, due to a bay you have access to the water on two sides) is very nice to look at (probably an ancient manor) and has all the infrastructure to be a top hotel. Unfortunately, there are some issues ruining the somewhat good impression. First, we were forced to carry our package ourselves... more

This well designed and well situated hotel has been a fixture in the Eastern Townships of Quebec for over sixty years. Its rooms range from the comfortably rustic to the luxurious and its location, on a beautiful Appalachian lake, can hardly be beaten. Our room was beautifully appointed and the bathroom was especially magnificent -- and to our great relief,... more

Loved it, loved it, loved it ! Very warm and inviting. Staff was wonderful. Food magnificent (They even accomodated my tomato and shellfish allergies, which frequently cause me a real problem.) We had 4 friends and family members to lunch one day and were very well served. Wine list was outstanding; prices were OK. We stayed in a small suite... more

The Ripplecove Inn was our first stop during our three week trip through Canada and the US (Indian Summer). It was a perfect first over night stay. Beautifully located and tastefully decorated, nice and clean rooms. We were treated almost as friends coming to visit. We had dinner there too, which was fantastic. The waiters and waitresses were very polite... more

My new husband and I decided to try out the Ripplecove Inn as a honeymoon getaway after we got married in Montreal. The Ripplecove Inn is on a lovely spot on Lake Massawippi in the Eastern Townships, and our room had a breathtaking view of the lake and surrounding foliage. Our little balcony was also a nice touch. Since dinner... more

My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon here and have nothing but good things to say. The food was excellent and the wine list was impressive (if not expensive compared to American wine lists). The menu reflected a commitment to the cuisine de la terroir: all ingredients appeared to be chosen judiciously from local producers and presented in... more

Ripplecove Inn exceeded our expectations. The setting was sublime. We spent an inordinate amount of time sitting in adirondak chairs on the dock. I tried to read but the loon and heron nearby and the beautiful fall colors, plus the totally peaceful lake (middle of the week) won my attention. Both dinners we had were outstanding as were the large... more

The Ripplecove and Manoir Hovey are owned by the same family and they should be very proud that both properties are high quality eventhough they each have their uniqueness! When we arrived at Ripplecove it was very quiet and we were offered a lovely upgrade - Room 17 is lovely - small balcony with view of the lake. Quite a... more

The rooms--even the economy room, which apparently only means there is no TV--are comfortable and thoughtfully decorated with antiques and pretty fabrics. We spent the previous night at an all-too-corporate looking Auberge near Trois Riviere. After reading the review in Fodor's we headed to Ripplecove and are so glad we did. It was heavenly. The crowd is mainly older (we... more
