All the superlatives used in other reviews apply to this wonderful place. The rooms are so comfortable with the most comfortable beds and great bathrooms. The view over the St Lawrence was great and the breakfast was gourmet and a lot of food. Our hosts were really friendly and very helpful. We would love to stay there again.

This place definitely deserves 5 stars: - The location: premium view of the St Lawrence River, literally from every angle in the house. - The rooms: you can see the high taste and elegance in every piece of furniture, the rooms were spotless clean with bath tub in every room. - The Breakfast: I have had Fairmont's breakfast before, and... Well designed modern space. Only three rooms so book in advance if you can. We were delighted to stay in the La Brunante room, big bathroom with large tub, comfortable, view of St Lawrence. Lovely host and delicious large breakfast. Spent the day exploring the Saguenay River, the lookout at the mouth of the river as it enters the St... More

We have stayed in many B&Bs over the years and without doubt this was one of the best (if not THE best) B&B so far. The main house had a very cozy and welcoming feeling to it. This was the first we stayed in a B&B and actually used the facilities that were offered (ie. the fireplace overlooking the St.... More

This is wonderful stylish but warm and welcoming accommodation. Our ensuite room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean, well furnished with stunning river views from the balcony. The facilties for guests downstairs were exceptionally good, with tea and coffee always available and lovely space in which to relax. The breakfasts were imaginative and delicious, mixing fruit and savoury dishes, and... More

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. Everything about our stay far exceeded our expectations. The location made for a very peaceful stay and the views of the river were always in our sights. The rooms were just as what is presented in the photos. The breakfasts were beyond delicious. We enjoyed our stay so much, that we have already booked... More

This is one of the few reviews I have written...and my husband and I have traveled around the world. The Auberge des Eaux Vives had us as we walked in the door--"twice" ! In fact, I reserved our room for the 2nd stay as we departed from our 1st visit. We loved it just that much. This is the kind... More

Spectacular: the location looking over the small harbour of Cap a l'aigle and the St. Lawrence, the breath-taking sunrises over the river, the comfort and cleanliness of the room and of the auberge, the superb and delicious multi-course breakfasts of Johanne, and the extremely accommodating and helpful host, Sylvain.

The Auberge des Eaux Vives was well-named: it is perched on the banks of the St. Lawrence River at a spot where several streams come down through the rocky hill-side to join the river. The sounds of the flowing water created a very peaceful, revitalizing environment for our stay. My husband and I spent three days at the B&B and... More

My husband I recently had the wonderful experience of a three night stay at a B @ B called Auberge des Eaux Vives in La Malbaie Quebec. Our host Sylvain and his wife Johanne place such attention to detail. The breakfasts are three course five star gourmet and the establishment is tastefully decorated and impeccably clean. We stayed in the... More
