I have to agree with many of the other reviewers. This is a beautiful hotel. However, you have to take the good with the bad: The good: The rooms are very clean with comfortable beds, soft pillows, a large bathroom with a regular shower and plenty of hot water. The location is excellent -- only two blocks from the Plaza... more

I agree with the earlier review that if you stay in rooms 2 - 5 the music from below the meson is extremely loud. The Black Cat Tavern is currently open Friday through Sunday nights. It's been open for a year now. The music usually starts up around 11:15 PM and doesn't stop until 2:00 AM. The constant thumbing from... more

I would really like to give this hotel a better rating because it is such a pretty place. It's clean, well located and has nice rooms, but if the primary reason for staying in a hotel is to get a good nights sleep I am afriad this one falls short. We stayed in room 3 and there is an underground... more

This is a lovely place to stay and return over the years. There is the most beautiful Mexican kitchen decorated with lovely tiles and clay pots from the region. It's very well equipped and you are encouraged to use it. 6 burner stove, oven, big fridge, microwave, blender, juice squeezer, drawers full of cutlery and sharp knives, cabinets full of... more

This was our third stay and we enjoyed it the most since we were there for 5 days. A remodled hacienda with approx. 8 rooms done and another 7 to go. On one of the days, we happened back to the room midday and Kathy saw how they were cleaning the rooms. She was totally amazed having been raised by... more

Though there was no one around to greet us when we arrived, the courtyard was so lovely that walking around and looking for someone didnt feel like a problem. Alfredo, once found, was very helpful and generous with his time. Our large room, decorated with local crafts, included a charming fireplace that was laid each day and ready to put... more

All the great reviews are true, there's really not much more I can add. My husband and I, plus my daughter and son-in-law, stayed for 3 nights in March '09. We had our small dog along, which was fine with the staff (some hotels in Mexico don't allow dogs). We absoultely loved our room! We used the fireplace every night.... more

Every now and then, you come across a hotel in your travels that's perfect (at least to you in that moment) in every way. I don't say this about many places, but it absolutely applies to this place. The first words out of my mouth when I walked up the cobblestone path into the courtyard were, "Ya me gusto" ("I... more

My husband and I stayed at the Meson last August (2008) and had a wonderful time there. This place is excellent: great location, great service and it's definitely affordable. We loved the atmosphere, since is very romantic and makes you feel like if you were in the 18th Century. Alfredo del Rio (the owner or administrator) is a wonderful gentleman,... more

Our family had a wonderful 3 nights at Meson de San Antonio...if only we could have stayed longer. The courtyard was mesmorizing. We were a group of 5: my husband and myself, 2 girls, ages 4 1/2 and 9 1/2, and my mother. We had 2 rooms side by side, each with 2 double beds , and we were surprised... more
