This is definitely one of the best places to stay in beautiful Alamos. Less than a mile from the central plaza, you are close to the ammenities of town, but are far enough away to escape the city noise (which can be quite loud on weekends/holidays). Each room is an individual casita situated in a woods-like setting, built of local... more

El Pedregal is a marvelous, small lodge. Five casitas mean you will never be crowded. Jen prepares some fantastic food. The grounds are extensive and provide for birding and quiet walks. Alamos is within walking distance. Jen leads yoga for those who are interested. If you need a lot of outside stimulus, you should probably not visit Alamos but if... more

My husband and I just returned from a guided Mexican birding trip with Solipaso. The highlight was our stay at El Pedregal. Jen and Dave MacKay have built luxurious casitas scattered on several lush acres of just outside of Alamos. Each casita is roomy with extremely comfortable beds with fine linen, good lighting and places to put luggage. We enjoyed... more

From the moment you arrive you get the feeling that you're family! The owners (who live on site) and their staff are friendly and are available for all your needs. The casitas are bright and airy with comfortable beds and sparkling bathrooms. The breakfasts are simply amazing - fresh cut local fruits, yogurt, granola, toast, home made breads and scones,... more

This charming and friendly place is not your typical "hotel." It is a secluded enclave on the fringe of a small Colonial Mexican village, more than 300 years old. Jen and Dave, the owners, are a great couple who run several business in this town which is certainly off the beaten track. Jen runs a small restaurant in town, Cafe... more

I recently spent a totally delightful week at El Pedregal outside of Alamos, Mexico. This is not your typical rural Mexican hotel. It is a series of individual casitas that are up to first rate American standard. Everything from the bed linens to the fluffy towels to the fresh fruit at breakfast to the library of both nature books and... more

Quite close to town, walking distance, but feels like in the middle of wilds, as just below the mountain and national park. It was still in construction and a little confused, but you could see how well it was coming together and how nice it would become. Great food, warm hospitality. recommend. Mike more
