If you like a lot of junk you will like this place. A true collector of Mexican Artesanias with a few of other countries thrown in, but it is nicely displayed. Great location. The rooms were clean and the beds hard, but I still had a good night sleep. No food since we were the only ones in the hotel.... more

we arrived on sept. 26, 2009 and stayed two nights. we found the room very comfortable and once the AC was turned on it was really nice since it was 102 outside. there was only one other couple in the hotel so it was really quiet. the hotel is on the edge of downtown just down the street from the... more

This is a real gem of a hotel and well worth seeking out. We stayed for just one night and loved the bright Mexican furnishings, vibrant colours and lively ambiance. We wished we could have stayed another day - exploring El Fuerte would have been fun. Our room was very adequate although the bed was very hard. Like most hotels... more

If you are touring the Copper Canyon on your own, staying at the El Fuerte hotel will be one of the highlights of your trip. This is a wonderful place for those who like some character in their surroundings and excellent value. This 300 year old hacienda has all the mod cons you require ... large clean rooms and bathrooms,... more

Stayed here for 1 night during a trip through the Copper Canyon. Such a magical place! We were greeted at the front gate by the owner himself - a charming man, to say the least! He made us feel so welcome, giving us the history of the hotel and a personal tour. Each room is individually decorated and each is... more

Stayed here 2 nights after coming by train through the copper canyon. This hotel is what old Mexico is all about. All of the rooms are unique, the staff was efficient, the food was good and they had reasonable, timely laundry service. GREAT PLACE. more

We spent 2 nights here after visiting the Copper Canyon. You simply cannot imagine how unique this place is. Most of the building is an original 350 year old hacienda. Every room is completely unique, not just the furnishings, but the configuration. The hotel and rooms are brimming with antiques and unique pieces. You could spend days just wandering around... more

What a wonderful hotel. It is located in the town of El Fuerte, Mexico a logical place to start a trip up to the Copper Canyon or end a stay at the Copper Canyon. Either way, this hotel in the delightful colonial town of El Fuerte is fantastic. It is the labor of 30 years of loving care by the... more
