We stayed August 19-26. Weather was very hot and humid--took a few days to get used to it. You only needed hot weather clothes, swimsuit, shorts, cool shirts. Whatever management did to improve the quality of the property worked, because we had a near perfect experience there. You check in at the Akumal Caribe facility. Very old and in desperate need of upgrade. we saw every species of insects and they were all on the inside of the villa. Mostly in bed and kitchen. plumbing is reduced to drips of only very hot or very cold yellowish water. Close proximity to the ocean but the house is not well maintained.
