Nothing fancy, but rooms were clean and service was friendly. There was a/c and a tv (for those who might need it) Restaurant downstairs, swimming pool in the courtyard. This hotel is right on the main square, convenient to everything. We had an excellent stay! We paid $46 per night for a Quadruple room (one full size and two twin... more
Compared to the other hotels and b&b we stayed during our trip in Mexico, this was not one of my favourites. Room was very basic and quite poor as well as the common areas. Location is the good point, as the hotel is right on the Zocalo, near some very nice restaurants and at a reasonable distance from the world... more
We stayed here for two nights in February 09 and didn't particularly enjoy our stay in the hotel itself. However, Valladolid is an excellent base to visit Chichen Itza and the surrounding area. It meant we were able to get to places early before the crowds of tour groups descended. The hotel itself was adequate and cheap but the room... more
Maria de la Luz Hotel is a decent place to stay while in Valladolid. It has a central location, a pool, a buffet breakfast (for extra). They said there was parking but the parking lot was full by the time we arrived. The staff were friendly enough but didn't necessarily seem like they wanted to go out of their way... more
Similar to the reviewer on Jan 13, 2009, my stay at Maria de la Luz didn't exactly make my trip better. I had just stayed in Merida for nearly half the price and the room was clean with sparkling white sheets, so imagine my shock when I get to Valladolid and the hotel was nearly twice the cost and dingy.... more
We got into Valladolid at high noon. It was dusty, hot, and intense. Maria de la Luz is right in the center of things with a busy restaurant and front desk. We were quoted a higher rate than we had reserved, but the new rate included breakfast which was worth it if you wanted a big breakfast. I asked how... more
We stayed at this place for 2 days, I really enjoyed the food at the restaurant and love the garden~ more
This was a clean, comfortable hotel at a moderate price. We stayed for 2 nights in early December and used Valladolid as a base to see Mayan ruins and cenotes. We booked by email through the hotel's website. We had to cancel our first night due to a flight delay, and had no problems with the reservation or charges for... more
My wife and I stayed at Maria de la Luz only for one night and we both truly liked it. The rooms are spacious, clean and have all amenities you may be looking for in a moderately priced place. Location – can’t beat it – it is right in the center. That is great, right? Well, not when there is... more
